Utter poppycock. Just because I am not cheerleading JD like you are no matter what he does doesn't mean I would be complaining about things that are actually done well. Particularly in this case where rolling out a shitty tackle I've been complaining about contributed to losing JD's biggest accomplishment for the season and SB hopes. Besides, if we had a 22 year old tackle now on the roster, who earned high grade by PFF, I don't think anyone would be complaining. We might just have had Rodgers still playing too.

Speaking of dumb, and am not trying to be insulting but responding in the same spirit of your writings, I am not sure if you are just trying to do this on purpose and argue just to argue, or simply not able to keep up with the discussion, but your posts are lacking very basic context.

For example, we are talking about Jones' first start as a rookie against Baltimore. We both mentioned good PFF grade for his first start, and I said it was 75. You then challenge this and tell me I am wrong, and that he is 66.5. However, that is the grade for the entire season, not this game. You know better than that. For the game, which was the point, he is 75 (well, 74.8 if you want to be precise). That is a fact. You don't need to argue this.

Another example. I am saying Jones apparently did well in his 1st start because I saw positive reviews from people who watched the game and a good PFF grade. I pointed out pff and an article someone posted that said he balled out. You then respond saying he did not ball out and that I did not read the article. https://steelersnow.com/broderick-jones-balls-out-in-first-career-start/ Even though the article, written by someone who studied the game, quite literally says "Broderick Jones Balls Out in First Career Start". Heck even the URL of the article says that. It also says this: "Moving forward, there should be little reason for the Steelers not to start Jones. He has proven he can at least hang at the NFL level. The ups and downs will come naturally, but Jones has the upward trajectory strapped to him now." A good thing coming from a Stealers writer.

Another example. I asked why are you arguing that Jones didn't ball out when all accounts, including PFF say that he did. You then responded that your friend watched it and said he was solid and did not bad for the 1st start and it matched the PFF grade (what was 75). Isn't it a good thing?

Answer this, wouldn't you prefer to have Broderick on the team right now? And if so, why keep going on and on contradicting yourself and misleading time and time again? JD was wrong and didn't address tackle when he could and should have, and it cost us. It's OK to say this, because it's true. Of course you don't have to do this and can always argue just to argue.

i'm not even cheerleading him lol. i'm saying he's done a lot of good and he's made some bad decisions but our roster as a while then healthy is a top 5 or 6 roster in the NFL. he took over the worst roster and we only have 2 players left over from the roster he took.

every team has shity lineman. have you not seen evan neal and jawaan taylor memes? and taylor is the starting OT for the chiefs lol the SB champs from last year. they are also trotting out one of the worst WR groups in the NFL. 2 of their top 3 WRs have the highest drop percentages in the NFL. they are 1 and 2. chiefs aren't shitting on their GM. if mahomes goes down, that team wins nothing. you have to look at things from all angles.

and for jones you said he's starting but failed to mention due to injury and yeah i took his rating on the season. you didn't say he had a good game. you know who was rated higher that game by PFF? becton and everyone shit on him for JD. the issue here is you and many others don't hold the same standards across the board. jones wasn't even an option anyway. he was drafted before our pick. you can't predict what he'd do here. lets say in a world where jones was there at 15 and we take him and say he blew his knee out in preseason we would hear how he wasted a top 15 pick on another injury prone OT. Pitt also runs a completely different offense, their line is worse then ours, their offense is worse then ours as a whole it's not even close to apples to apples

and for the article again it's clickbait. if you actually read it the quotes are "He played a very solid game in a tough matchup." "Could you give me all the stock in Jones? Not everything will be seamless for him. But I see a player learning on the fly and improving with more time played." "Against elite edge rushers, he might have a tough time still. But man, encouraging performance from him." "If his pass protection comes along quicker than everyone thought, that’s a testament to his development and coachability." nowhere does he say he balls out. he said he was solid. his run blocking is starter level but his pass blocking needs some work.

as far as who would I rather have right now? I can't really answer that. you have 2 young players. mitchell has been fine, it's not like we didn't draft other OTs in back to back years. The real answer is i'd rather have a healthy AVT and healthy rodgers out there but thats not possible and neither is jones.

the issue is, jet fans have a weird standard and assume other teams backups are better then our starters all the time. I made the statement zach wilson is a top 50 QB in the world and that was argued. even had someone say he's not even top 100. thats right someone said zach was so bad that every backup and 3rd string is better then him lol. remember all the people talking about how hackenberg can't be worse? or that mims wasn't getting a fair shake. for some reason jet fans think our backups are god tier, our starters suck, and other teams have better backups. it's so freaking weird and ignorant. I had everyone argue with me over dalvin cook too because i said he's declining and could be washed already and I don't expect much from him. I said hardman was a depth signing and won't do mch and I was told i was wrong and he's good and he's going to have a big role in the offense. we know how that worked out.

I think I see the problem. We're not a top 6 roster in the NFL, especially depth wise. Probably closer to the 14-16 range. We might have a top 6 DL?

JD didn't take over the worst roster in the league. We went 7-9 and picked 11th, finishing ahead of teams like the Bengals, Chargers, Lions, Dolphins, and Jags. All of these teams have notably better rosters than us now, even though we had more FA money and 11 top 50 picks. Three years later were 7-9, and we'll struggle to make that again this year.

You'll chime in with the "but those teams have good QBs" argument. Whose fault is that? JD went Matt Morgan, Zach Wilson, and finally sold our future for a desperation season or two with Rodgers. In the meantime he's signed backups like Joe Flacco and Matt Boyle. The hard truth is, for all of JDs good qualities, his team building is like a backwater that just spins in circles.

the issue is some people here just really underrate our team and overrate other teams.

we have the best CBs in the NFL as a group.
our safeties might be meh but so are every teams except for like 3 teams
our LBer group is top 5 now
Our d-line is in the top 10
    o-line currently is around average
QB was top 10 until the injuries
    RB is top 3
WR group is in the 10-12 range

we also didn't sell the future for rodgers. we wound up giving a 2nd and 2 spots in the 1st round.

    It is distracted anyway.

Does he want to build through the draft? looks like it sometimes when he trades Jamal Adams for picks. But then he goes and gives up a bunch of draft picks for a guard, for a rental RB, for Aaron Rodgers, etc.

Does he want to build through the trenches? he talks like he does, but somehow we have a terrible offensive line and he put a 40 year old QB behind it

How about speed? Yeah, lets build a track team and sign guys like Hardman. No wait, actually lets trade him.

When a GM is all the fuck over the place its just because he doesnt know what he's doing

if i give you a million dollars, then you lose half of it in transit, and the other half gets stolen due to bad luck, it doesn't negate the fact i gave you a million dollars.

a good GM builds through all 3 facets. trades, FA, and draft. JD already said it. ts the same thing the eagles and ravens do. the 2 front offices that won SBs when JD was there and 2 franchises who have been consistently good. i mean the eagles fired their HC for not winning a SB despite making 4 straight NFC championship games and losing 1 SB

for the past 2 weeks our o-line has been above average. you can't blame him for freak injuries. he used 2 1st rounders in back to back drafts on o-line (LT and LG) and both have played well when healthy. he also used a 2nd who's only played a couple of games as a rookie but looks good so far. he signed the 2nd best OC in free agency and then retained him cheap when his contract was up, he signed a top OG in free agency. He took flyers on fant (who had 1 good year with us). he sure has been trying to get a working o-line but injuries have kind of fucked us. the line looked pretty damn good for the 2 weeks it was becton, tomlinson, CMG, Tippman, AVT. all 5 were brought in by JD

Gms don't pick who gets snaps. GW and breece bring plenty of speed. both draft picks by JD. I said when we signed hardman that he just isn't that good when people were hyping him as a great find. it was a low risk maybe he'll help signing. but he found a cheaper better version of him in gipson
you just don't understand it. doesn't mean what he's doing isn't making sense

you make your own luck in life and you win football games by being the better team.

    Results should matter to fans.

lol "make your own luck" thats a dumb ass comment.t ell that to someone stopped at a red light who gets railed from behind, or someone killed by a drunk driver.

of course results should matter, but constant changing of leadership is always bad unless they are inept. the best teams have consistency at the top

The Eagles and Ravens being consistently good both before Douglas got there (in the case of the Ravens before he worked his way up high enough to have any influence there) and after he left is an important piece of information.

    what in the FUCK?

we are talking about managing a football team not driving. See, in professional football injuries are not only common, but expected!

and you start talking about drunk driving? Wtf are you drunk yourself? I feel dumber reading your posts

i'm not saying JD is the reason for their success. i'm saying thats how he learned to run a team and he's doing it the same way here. remember the ravens sucked before they were the ravens. they were the browns and were awful for years. moved to b-more and won a SB like 3 years later. the eagles were a basement team before mcnabb and reid

expected sure, but you don't expect them to be this bad. you have backups to play a game or two here. you don't expect to lose a QB after 4 snaps.
nobody shit on parcells when vinny blew out an achillies, shit happens.
you all are just too angry with no outlet so you just want to shit on people for no reason.

jets are middle of the road in terms of injuries as they have been throughout douglas’ tenure

im keeping things factual. Like the above and when I cite Joe Douglas’ losing record.

the emotional argument is talking about “luck” and drunk drivers like you were

lol based on what? you can't compare a hamstring for 4 weeks to your top 5 QB blowing out an achillies. all the top QBs in the NFL have stayed healthy. our issue has been QB the past 2 years. the rest of the roster has been great but you can't win with a trash QB.

and john lynch traded 3 1sts to take lance 3rd overall then trade him for a 4th rounder 2 years later. all GMs make mistakes
it's not an excuse, it's being realistic. not a single GM even the best one of all time, hasn't made mistakes
