Is it me, or are the similarities between these two kind of eerie? Two guys who basically came out of nowhere, and the strength and burst and fierce love of competition just pops off the screen over and over again. Both guys, you're thinking, "Where did we find this dude?" Hopefully our current Quincy can pay homage to Enunwa by staying well and fit and winning some important ball games. Quincy Enunwa was on the verge of being my favorite player. Now Quincy Williams... man, he's getting there too.
Big Quincy fan. Last year I had some debates with other posters about him. I did then and still do now think he is the best tackler on the team. He is always good for a couple of monster hits a game and plays with passion. He makes Mosley look like he is moving in quicksand.
Yea, loved Enunwa. Really a shame he had to retire due to injury, but glad he got out with his head straight and he's pretty good on TV. Williams is becoming a much smarter player. Picking his spots for big hits and not being caught out of position as much.
Legit expected some kind of strange callback to Quincy Carter...totally forgot about Enunwa. Which I now feel bad about because he did some great things for a short while.
LBs being old and slow is one of the more tired cliches on this board. Been going on as long as I’ve been here. People were pushing that narrative with Mosley when he was 26 here. All Pro last year and on his way to another one, and STILL pushing that narrative lol. We had small ‘fast’ LBs in Lee and Hamsah, we saw how that worked out. Maybe it’s a misunderstanding of the Mike position. Quincy developing into a solid starter himself. Plays with passion and motor. Looking every bit worth the re-signing.
CJ never had crazy wheels. He’s been more than fine this season. Quincy just runs at a different speed so it makes CJ look slow.
Definitely true. However it dates back to Moe Lewis and Marvin Jones when the sentiment actually was true. Those fellas were slower than Mo Vaughn trying to leg out a single off the wall at the end in 2003.
Quincy Carter, anyone remember when he went on a coke binge, disappeared, and no-one, including Fat Parcells, could find him? That was awesome.
I actually didn’t know this one! Tried looking it up but only found a report about him failing a test
Iirc, 7th round Cornhusker whose long catch and run down the left sideline set up the Fitz to Decker OT winner vs. NE, the last time the NYJ beat them.
