Absolutely brutal officiating and resolved any doubt in the outcome, but I'm not sure it cost us the game. We should've had at least one more possession to throw an interception, fumble, or turn it over on downs.
the issue with that is, say it's 3rd and 20 and the WR beats the CB. the CB can just tackle him and it'll be 3rd and 10. that the kind of stuff they want to avoid.
could he be easily remedied with flagrant interference (spot foul) and incidental interference (10 yards). There is also zero reason why teams shouldnt be allowed to review penalties, or challenge that there was one for example where Jermaine Johnson was held for 7 full seconds.
the chiefs o-line got away with a lot. right from the start. their LT raped JJ who got frustrated and pushed him after the play and cost us 15 yards. then he continued to get held every play pretty much.
If I remember right, I think the rule used to be just the yardage penalty and not an automatic first down, but what your example suggests was actually what used to happen until the NFL finally changed it.
which was my point. it ruined the games so they changed it. I think refs need to do better situationally to not gift 1st downs. barely touching a guy 5 yards downfiled on a 3rd and 20 shouldn't be call and give a free 1st down
I like this take. We had some egregious calls/no calls. But we had the game in our hands a few times and we dropped it. But our O-line got away with holding too. Not saying it's fair, the refs gave the game away but the officiating was pretty bad all night. That ref who threw the flag should be guillotined.
Yes, there is some holding going on almost every play. But there is holding, and there is holding that occurred on JJ. The later one is the easiest call that ref should have made in his life.
Another one... On the 33 yrd. pass to Pacheco at 5:01 1st qtr.... Will McDonald was blatantly choke-held on his rush. Even Saleh complained to the refs.
I mean is it really that far fetched to think that the NFL wants to keep its mega sponsors (State Farm) happy? Do we really think a bunch of old greedy fucks who think they are going to live forever are above making sure their biggest ticket item (Mahomes) wins?
this is the illegal contact on the 3rd and 23 run. They called this but not JJ. The guy just flopped LOL
One would think it takes more than just some part time employees (officials) to successfully run an NFL "production".
Refs showed once again they are unquestionably biased to support the NFL money making agenda. Wherein ethic go out the window, and rules are never applied equally nor fairly. Players and coaches get penalized at the drop of a hat and these incompetent cheating clowns get away with murder because it supports the NFL goal to protect the super star darlings on prime time.
Yeah I always thought if the ball doesn't reach the LOS, it's automatic unless it's tipped, but maybe I'm unclear on the rules.
you have to be outside the tackle box and it needs to pass the LOS or you need an eligible receiver in the area. that was obvious grounding. no receiver in the area and he dirtied it behind the LOS while in the tackle box. it was textbook grounding. they can use that play as a demo of what grounding is
