I hope so. I personally didn't expect it and didn't even want Zach to go out there. I fully expected the repeat of the Jacksonville game, and Boyle playing at the half. But Zach, in front of national audience, after being shat on for the entire week by everyone from the opposing teams to fireman Ed to Joe Namath, came out had the best game of his career. He played like a 24 year old #2 overall pick last night.

It was by no means perfect, and we only scored 18 points on offense. But there was a 3 point miss off the bar, Conklin had a chance at that TD catch when Zach threw on the run to his opposite side, and Hall should had ran to his right where Conklin has a block for a breakthrough TD, refs prevented from having another possession. So it was a good day for him in spite of only 18 points and a costly fumble. Now, if he can just start stacking up weeks like this, we might have something here.

He's been taking baby steps this season. Yesterday, he took a bigger step, with help from Hackett. Downing, & AR. I'm sure he'll continue to make some mistakes, but the key is consistency.
As an aside, the media will be the media, but it's nice to see some players around the NFL, & even LeBron, start to get Zach's back.
Athletes are gaining respect for him, as he fights to resuscitate his career.
That may even translate onto the field, at some point, in terms of how officials make calls against the Jets, specifically roughing the passer calls.

    underrated post

Agreed. I called him a fraud yesterday before the game but if we see more performances like that I’ll raise my hand and admit I was wrong

Zach has only shown flashes within games. He was making incremental progress this season before last night, but I think the combination of Bellicheck and the weather made him second guess all of his decisions against the Pats. Last night is the first game I can recall, that he consistently and accurately got the ball out in less than 2.5 seconds. That suggests to me that maybe something may have finally clicked in his brain...but we shall see.

I’ve been SUPER critical of Zach…but I will give credit for last night’s game. Not perfect and it sucks that he made one really costly error and it cost us the game because our vaunted D couldn’t get off the field, though to be fair they were playing against the Chiefs AND the refs…that 3rd and 22 play where our guys were held for ages is disgusting, but still, you just CAN’T give up a 3rd and 22. Can’t do it.

So all that being said, Zach had his best game yesterday I think…and if he can play like that we can win some games…AFC is loaded so 11 wins should get you in, 10 wins maybe, and 9 wins I guess possible but unlikely. Still, it’s a long season…if we assume that KC, Jax, Balt and Buff win their divisions, we’re competing with Mia, Cleve, Cincy, Pitt, LAC pretty much…Buff/Mia one or the other but both are playoff teams, so we’ll see. Not easy. Losing that Pats game was a killer…THAT game we should have won. Den looks god awful so far but hey, we are the team that other teams circle on their calendars as a “get right” game, but shoot, if we want to make the playoffs, next week on the road is really a must win game…2-3 is very different than 1-4 going into Philly game.

    We’ll see

If last night was a sign of things to come from Zach, and it really does reflect the OL gelling a bit (he had plenty of time to throw more often than not), the OC starting to call a better game for Zach, and Zach getting in rhythm and throwing tight passes on time, well then we should hopefully win some games and be in the playoff mix.

It’s a BIG if, but IF his play continues like this, I think our D will step up and we’ll win some games.

I mean, moral victories are nice and all, but Saleh’s record is atrocious, and JD is there with him. This team needs to start delivering wins at some point

That Rodney Harrison interview with Chris Jones after the game was absolutely awful. Chris was trying to give Zach props and bitchface Harrison trying to start drama and get Chris in trouble and bring Zach down.

    Even Micah Parsons commented

Broo honestly I’ll never understand media!! This platform should been a moment to praise the chiefs and they win!! This guy is trying to completely trying tear Zach Wilson down !! I don’t get it!! I honestly hope Zach proves a lot of these people wrong!

I think they see being aggressive as what they need to do when they're behind, but once they're ahead or tied, they think they need to be more conservative and cautious. That's a big mistake if my guess is accurate.

I agree regartding Cook. IMO Hardman has been the biggest disappointment this season (aside from Rodgers going down on the 4th play of the season). I think he must not be showing enough in practice. He struggled in TC. He dropped too many passes. He may be struggling to learn the offense, or may just be a gadget player and for whatever reason the Jets have decided they'd rather use and develop Gipson.

I didn't pay any attention to ANY Zach news this past week. I didn't read any Jets fan sites. What did Namath say?

Said Zach doesn't have it upstairs, wanted to get rid of him (along with GM and HC). Especially upset when Zach took a sack untouched.

    Thanks.

Joe needs to STFU. He never played in a WCO offense. I'll bet he would have struggled with it.

His comment about White shows that he is either senile or all his drinking and carousing rotted his brain. If this is a lower point for him than during the Kotite era or Gase era, then he's definitely senile. The Jets should tell him to STFU or that he's no longer welcome around the team.

Allow me to point out to the Zach haters that not even your boy Streveler gets in on that 2 point conversion. That was a huge play. What other Jet QB does actually?

Obviously we need to see it more, but the kid did, as Mahomes said after the game "played his ass off"

perspective is everything. (a) Jets best offenseive performance of the year and (b) they scored 18 pts on 11 possessions. That's not good enough to win most NFL Sundays and especially not against KC-- >even if KC does play an uncharacteristically sloppy offensive game.
I'll be a believer when I see an offensive performance that wins a game. Hopefully that's next weekend.

fuck that, Namath is entitled to his opinion. If the Jets ownership told him he's no longer welcome that would be a bush league move and everyone in the industry would lose respect for them

Fair enough. But when your entire organizational philosophy for decades has been "Defense wins championships", and teams are built with the belief that it's defense that wins games, not offense, is it really surprising that we've seen the results we have? Even last night, with a way more open playbook, and Zach playing confidently and leading the team downfield consistently, what did Saleh at key moments? Went the safe route. No, not necessarily - or I should say obviously - wrong, but it demonstrated the difference between a risk-averse CS and a confident one. I doubt Andy Reid would've chosen to kick a FG with 4th and short and behind behind in the game.

And after the Jets had had such success passing on first down, they went back to running on first down and look what happened. When will they realize that the NFL is an offense driven league?

Because this board is run by civil people who allow people to freely express their opinions as long as its not attacking others, you 2 should learn that we live in a country with "freedom of speech". I know you 2 hate it but that's how it is.
