Playing against Patrick Mahomes this week so we are gonna need all the pass rush we can find. McDonald needs to be active and get some snaps. If you have to make a useless fullback inactive, so be it

Could go down as the biggest waste of a first round pick in franchise history.

We got a lot of meat up front so he hasn't seen play

    Sigh

That "meat up front" got 0 pressure on Jones.

If he continues to see the field as little as he has? Absolutely. What good is a first round pick if he doesn't play (Again, QB Excluded)

He's been inactive TWICE! The 12 pick!! A Healthy Scratch??? What happened to "Elite Bend", "Great Get Off" You pick a guy 12 he needs to PLAY! This coaching staff is lost !!! He's better than Lawson who they are dressing! Same thing with Jeremy Ruckert. He's the Best TE on the Roster, he's been on the field a grand total of 9 plays. It's Ridiculous...

At least they actually had to play Gohlston to determine he was a waste.

Well I’m not saying he’s good or not good or we have enough depth or whatever the reason is, but if you pick a player (outside potentially a QB) in the first round, and more so in the top half of the first round, he HAS to play

I don’t care what the reason is, if a high first round pick isn’t playing…then to me that’s a bad pick…whether its that the guy sucks, or that he plays a position that we shouldn’t have drafted, whatever. We are not THAT good anywhere that a first round pick isn’t even active

And if the thinking was redshirt him this year and we’re picking him for NEXT year when we think we’re going to lose Huff and/or Lawson, then kudos for JD thinking long term, but I’d still argue that’s not the best way to go…especially with a team that was supposedly all in for this year with AR…

Jets are middle of the league in PR win rate, and outside of Q Williams and Huff are below average. It is not great pass rushers that are keeping him off the field-- it is mediocre pass rushers.

yes, lots of $$ and reputation in that room but mediocre results. Lawson, Franklin-Myers, Jefferson aren't lighting the league up. It is concerning that McDonald can't take their spots

To be clear, I am not saying that the PLAYER McDonald is the worst player they ever picked in the first round. I am saying it was the worst First Round PICK DECISION ever made, because it is a position they are so stacked in, they can't even play the guy.
