At this point he might as well say it. I get that he's thinking about his next job and doesn't want to have a reputation as someone who throws his colleagues under the bus, but this is so bad that I think other teams would forgive him.

The bigger constant is that the cycle of doom you cite started way before Woody Johnson was in the picture - he has only continued down the path worn in by his predecessors.

In most cases I would I agree, except with Rodgers looking to return next year, he would want stability on that front.

Going against the owners wished is not a good look for a HC.

He's been guaranteed the job for next year. No guarantees of he resigns.

After thinking about it for a few hours here is where I'm at:

    - JD and Saleh have always lied to the media. Just look at the OL talk last week as the most recent example. They don't care that they lie to the media and I don't really care either. Honestly, I like it, but this just feels way way way different. Is he lying again? There is that small chance that he may actually be telling the truth and that's the scary part.

    - All of the offensive players yesterday stuck to the same script. ZW is our guy and we have all the faith in the world in him. We all saw GW on the sideline saying, "he can't throw it" and the frustration on the sideline from multiple offensive players. It makes it seem like there was a big offensive meeting before the media availability and they all stuck to the script. The defense knows it, you can see it how they play when zach wasn't on the field last year.

    - When Saleh answered that question after that game on Sunday, he paused and had to rethink how he wanted to answer this b/c he knows zach isn't the answer and doesn't give them the best chance. JD cannot be this stupid or stubborn. I just can't believe that. The eye tests and advanced stats are so glaring even Helen Keller can see it.

I’m not disagreeing with your frustration, believe me so am I in spades. My point is that unfortunately in front of the media he is just following a script preordained by the organization. This organization starting with Woody is creating this BS environment by their actions.

There are ways to say it without saying it like that.

“We’re constantly evaluating every position on the field so that we can get the best play out of each position. Zach is now the leader of this team and we’re 1-2. He has to play better.”

If a quarterback can’t hear his coach say that to the media after his performance and career performances quite frankly then he needs to be benched anyways for being a fragile pussy.

Agree. When he diverts the question by saying simply everyone needs to play better, he should have added….starting with Zach, he is our leader and must lead by example. But honestly, not sure if Saleh sees the issues the way we see them from the couch. I don’t have a strong fuzzy about his command of what all needs to be corrected with this team.

“[Saleh is] coming off as a Zach apologist, and that doesn’t play well in the locker room,” Cimini said on his podcast. “The defense, in particular, is not happy. … This defense knows that if any other player were performing his job the way Wilson is performing his, that player would be benched. Trust me, there’s tension in that locker room.”

“I get the sense, from what I’ve seen on the sideline and from what I’m hearing, that this team could be ready to implode, offense, too,” Cimini reported.

You might be on to something here, but probably not what you intended. You would think that Saleh wants to work in the NFL a long time so the question to be asked about him is if he wants to look good or be good.

yes, the "kid gloves" approach obviously is NOT working..... and aside from Zach, just acknowledging a player/position is sucking sends an even keel message across the roster. It's truly bizarre

It’s just bizarre…there is NO WAY anyone with ANY football sense would just keep trotting this guy out there, watching him suck absolute balls, and then stand up and say it’s not on him and call out the rest of the team.

    I just don’t get it.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a head coach coddle a player as much as this

There HAS to be some backstory somewhere…some other thing driving this…because if this were truly his decision then he needs to go
