so true, what a dumb move that was to let him go. He is getting peanuts in Miami too. Backup QBs are important, obviously we see now

Great post. People finally understand MW becoming our long term backup was our in fact first step to finding a true QB.

    but we lost it.

The problem with keeping White is that the locker room had been poisoned with him, and if they had any chance of salvaging Zach - which is what they wanted to do - White had to go. And I don't think White was behind all the "Mike F'n White" shit. I think he was embarrassed - although I'm sure he appreciated the support - I don't think he wanted it at the expense of creating a problem for Zach. But in any case, the Jets couldn't keep him and Zach both, and while you and many others don't agree, they saw more upside in Zach possibly becoming a decent starter than White would be.

Whether you think Zach is any good or you don't, the Jets fucked up another young QB, and continue to have a major question mark at the most important position in football.

Oh come on man. This sounds like a soap opera now.

…but that’s why you move Zach for a loaf of bread.

My conclusion is the Jets are a mess

Aron Rogers was supposed to be our Savior now he’s at the Doctors office

The Coaches are iffy and The GM better than most recent..but that’s it

IMO we bring back the Team that got us to an AFC championship >>Rex and Tannenbaum
That’s not a popular answer but that’s what I think is best

I really don’t think the GM is bad at all. I agree with a lot of the moves he’s bad. Some of it is luck (like Zach Wilson being a huge bust).

There is talent on this team and I think there are plenty of coaches out there who can get more out of this team than Saleh and his merry crew.

Saleh will be on hot seat if they can’t win tomorrow.

it’s gonna be bad weather and we all know Zach can’t handle the elements, so it will be a L, very sad to say.

but this is a blessing in disguise. This QB class is phenomenal for 2024.

The biggest "element" he faces is BB. Can Hackett help him, unlike the previous 3 or 4 OCs (and HCs) who were completely overmatched going against Belichick? I think Zach needs to be ready to go off script if need be and ignore Hackett if he dials up another game plan like last week.

Spot on! I couldn't possibly agree more about the Jets and their philosophy as the root cause of their failings and most of the rest. The only thing I can partially disagree with is regarding Kenny O.

I really liked Kenny O, and the Jets should definitely have built a better pass protecting OL, but I remember Kenny hurting himself. As I recall, he held the ball waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too long. He wound up taking a lot of those brutal hits precisely because he held the ball too long and wouldn't throw it away. The OL was pretty good at run blocking and as I recall, they were average or above average in pass protection, but Kenny often held the ball too long waiting for someone to get open. I guess they didn't have checkdowns/dumpoffs as much back in those days, or if they did, he just refused to do that. I definitely recall Walton, game announcers, the media, and Jets fans talking about how Kenny held the ball too long. It would be interesting to go back and time and see how long he held the ball. I'm guessing that on some plays it might have been 5 seconds or more.

No, it wasn't. He had a couple of career games and that's it. He is not that talented and doesn't really have an NFL arm imo. After some of his teammates got the T-shirts there's no way the Jets could keep him.

The root cause is the incompetent ownership. Everything stems from them.

They fell in love with the success Rex had and it convinced them that defense+run game was the way to succeed in the NFL. 10 years later they apparently still believe that to be true, despite mountains of evidence to the contrary.

We continue to draft far too many DL despite being deep at the position for what feels like a decade now. We continue to sign aging RBs when everyone else has realized it's dumb for a decade now. We keep signing defensive coordinators as head coaches despite everyone else realizing that you usually are better off focusing on up and coming offensive minds. We keep acting like the TE position doesn't exist and that having a good receiving TE is a luxury. We keep thinking that having 1 good WR is good enough.

When was the last time it felt like our team was playing to win instead of not to lose? The NFL is overrun with high flying offenses. We are terrified of throwing the ball and basically just hope our defense bails us out every game and we win while scoring 13 points. It's pathetic and nonsensical. Yeah, we've had bad QBs, but tons of teams with bad QBs look like the Mahomes Chiefs compared to us, which brings us back to us totally ignoring offense and never signing a novel offensive mind as HC.

It's all so tiresome at this point. This franchise, starting with the owners, is just completely out of tune with the dominant league trends and has been forever.

It’s professional football. Fuck feelings, the better performing player shoulda been the one brought back and that was White

All off-season we said we needed a better backup cause Rodgers could get hurt, fuckin we are just regular dudes what do we know. I can’t believe Joe Douglas wasn’t on that

Kenny's problem was his players getting injured.

He beat John Elway's 7-0 Broncos on MNF and the whole team gets hurt causing us to lose our last five games that year.

Mike White is better than Zach and has a higher ceiling (yeah I just went there, I'm in a controversial mood, let me know when Zach has a 300+ yard game), but he has as much if not more in common with the various young nobodies (Bollinger, Clemens, McElroy, Simms, Petty) fans have fallen in love with because they're not the shitty starter than he does someone who could be the solution. Someone like Winston or Minshew is better than White, and it's not that close.

Yeah, well Douglas and Saleh didn't think Mike had more upside than Zach.

And that is the reason for it all, and takes a front seat to everything else
