Yikes. Not only does the guy know football better than everyone in the fanbase, he’s also a psychiatrist. No one comes here to be educated by pricks who know a lot less than they think they do. Especially when they’re pricks that have such a horrible grasp of sentence structure. Carry on with your essays of jumbled together nonsense followed by narcissistic insults.
No, what’s “really dumb” is sitting idly while your quarterback’s life is in danger every time he steps out on the field. We get it, you’re ok with the state of the line. I’m not, and I doubt I’m alone
I like and agree with the suggestion, but the only problem is that Risner signed with Minnesota last week or earlier this week.
I know, I’m saying we should have signed him. The person I’m debating with is saying that he was unsigned for a reason
C'mon guys. I'm a mod for less than a week and we've got folks going after each other. Like I just said in the other thread, let's stick to the topics at hand and keep the personal attacks/insults out of it.
In terms of who got the big contract that may be true, but I and at least some others thought James Daniels was the better investment since he plays both G and C. I see JV made the same point. How does your elitist self ego handle such disparity?
I am not blaming JD for Fant, but for not building a competent OLine, which already cost us Rodgers, and played worse since. Fant, Browns, and Turner all were injured and sucked last year. JD picked two of them, and they continue to suck, while the one he didn't pick actually plays well with 70+ rating in PFF and particularly well at pass pro. Basically like he did in 2021. Not sure why you are saying he hasn't been good, have you actually studied his tape, because pff and other metrics indicate he has been 10 times better than Brown. It just seems like no matter what JD does when it comes to OLine, he always misses, not sure what it is.
Not trying to derail the thread but I didn't realize you were a new mod. That Is awesome, can't think of anyone better suited for the role. Congratulations!
Don't take me wrong, I liked Tipp's pick and hope he replaces CMG the sooner the better. And CMG didn't play that great last year. It's the other guys who played even worse, which is the crazy thing. Except AVT, but he only played hand full of games. CMG lasted and provided approximately average to little below average play. This is more than we could say for everyone else on the OlIne. And a huge reason why I wanted JD to upgrade the OLine this year, particularly at tackle. And I am not just saying it now that we have paid the ultimate price. I pointed this out during FA and draft process multiple times hoping JD would actually deliver the improvement and was praying I was wrong when it felt like he didn't.
I hope he is full of shit and is trying to mislead the Patriots. If not ... what a dumbfuck statement.
Of course they are winnable games.lol ...minus the Eagles and Chiefs they all are But who says we are guaranteed to beat them? With AR the odds of winning were very high Now we have the CS braintrust and Zach Wilson I gotta see it Sunday to believe we stand a punchers chance ..otherwise every game going forward will be a crapshoot . just my ho
He’s tried to upgrade the Jets line much like Gettleman tried to upgrade the Giants line. It just hasn’t worked. McCagnan drafted two OL during his entire tenure (Brandon Shell in 5th and Chuma Edoga in 3rd). He deserved and received a ton of criticism for that. Douglas has invested two top 15 picks and a 2nd rounder thus far on OL + 3 day three picks. Plus he handed a huge contract to Tomlinson. Look at the Giants Ereck Flowers, Evan Neal, Andrew Thomas, Will Hernandez, Nate Solder, JMS…. Their line still sucks too. It’s a really hard position group to build. From what I hear they do a really bad job developing OL in college for the pros.
JD was close a few times, but always missed at the end. We had Moses and Fant in the building, but didn't hold on to them, and these guys are playing well now for other teams. Last year Fant sucked, as it turns out due to injury and not decline like Brown (miss). Laken was a solid signing in theory too, but was also a miss. I agree it is not easy, but he did have a few years and in his entire reign the only good lineup was for about 1/4 of a year in 2021 with Fant, Moses, CMG, AVT, and LDT. Outside of that short stretch, OLine sucks for the 4th year now. And this year there was not enough effort I feel to address Tackle. Yes, it would have been great to sign Orlando, but when that failed, he had to do more in the draft either to get Broderick or when Dawand started falling to get him. Instead he let Fant go (miss) and picked up Billy Turner (miss), then drafted injury prone Carter after trading down in the 4th instead of trading up a little to ensure Dawand (miss). Max btw judging by preseason looks like a miss too. Now we continue to stay pat by only adding Cedrick to PS.
And that (the bold) was when Zach was out injured. So really, the entire time Zach has played it's been behind a less than adequate - at best - OL. But people think he should've been able to overcome that. SMH.
Agreed. Hard to defend his plan at left tackle this year. My only thought is that maybe they really did believe they had something in Max Mitchell.
I like to think that the CS as well should come under serious scrutiny when players seem to perform better and more consistently when the leave the Jets. We have not had a top OL coach since Callahan left the building. All these new schemes we apply don't seem to be that effective be it the pass or the run. Is like the D knows what we are going to do before we do. .
