If "sheer amount of resources invested" were all it took to produce a good QB, no team in the league would be without one. But in fact it takes wise use of those resources, targeted to the strengths and weaknesses of your QB. The Jets haven't done this for decades.
Zach showed true improvement? His last 2 INTs were thrown right to the Cowboys. You must not have checked his stats. This IS the third year now we keep hearing how Zach is improving and ready to turn the corner. Check out Greenberg's rant today. Are you related to Joe Douglas?
the problem is Zach Wilson doesn’t have any strengths only Weaknesses, when your qb can’t go past a 1st read ,read a Nfl coverage orconsistently complete a 2 yard pass he is more of a liability than a assett. His only strength is slinging it but that don’t work in the nfl so therefore he is a major liability
Yeah, and not only is calling protections important, but getting rid of the ball quickly as well. Wilson is consistently worst in the league in average time to throw. He needs to get rid of the ball. It's Darnold 2.0 with the complete lack of ability to give up on a play when it's not there. Tua gets rid of the ball in something like 2 seconds flat on average. Wilson is in the 3-second range. That 1-1.5 second difference is the difference between a sack or not.
just proves Zach Wilson can’t process the information quickly enough therefore will never make it in this League. These are things no offensive coach can teach you, or 50 more games as a starting qb will teach you, you either got it or you don’t
Fuck Greenberg that sky is falling pansie after a 1-1 start. These clowns just bleat to get attention. Forget the stats. Did you watch the game? I agree with Zachs assessment. First three quarters he was seeing the field well. If that last throw of the first half wasn't tipped (AVT let the DL through) it was a TD to Wilson and the narrative on Zach changes. Last quarter he was running for his life, the game was over and he was just trying to make plays. He had a few errors but you cant say they cost the Jets the game.
what game were you watching, if he was seeing the field well the first 3 quarters why did he only have 100 yards? The 4th quarter Dallas was playing prevent defense and he was not running for his life and had a lot of time to throw and he still threw it into 3 defenders. In 25 starts now Zach Wilson has never seen the field well
Jets beat Buff week 1 and Jets fans think we are going 17-0. Jets lose badly in Week 2 to a very good/hot Cowboy team and they are going 1-16.
Because the Jets ELITE DEFENSE couldn't get off the field. Cowboys first possession, 14 PLAYS and 75 yards for a TD. 5:41 burned off the clock. Is that Zachs fault? First possession of the second half, Cowboys backed up at their own 10 yard line. 15 PLAYS, 80 yards for a FG, 6:44 seconds. After Zach throws the TD and there is a potential momentum shift: Cowboys respond with 17 PLAYS, 57 yards and a TD, 5:20 seconds.
So how is the defense responsible for Zack Wilson sucking? If Zach Wilson didn’t suck maybe the defense wouldn’t be gassed out all the time and on the field for 40 mins plus? When you go 3 and out every drive how can the defense not suck?
The thing about it , is all of us who have different ideas on what’s causing the failures…. The answer is most likely all of the above.
you are blaming the defense the only functioning unit on this team for Zach Wilsons woes are you nuts dude? So the defense is a bigger liability on this team than Zach Wilson correct? I would give you a benefit of a doubt if you blamed the offensive line for his incompetence but balming the defense for Zach Wilson sucking is just demented.
Like TypeOne negative said, the answer is "all of the above". Its a team sport. Special Teams was good, Defense underperformed and the Offense underperformed. Blaming it all on the QB because he didnt HERO BALL against a very good D that shut out and embarrased the Giants last week is lazy.
