I'm not sure the secret is fully out nationally how good this whole Jets roster really is (I'm not even sure WE fully appreciate how good it is yet) and its easy to look past that while the QB catastrophe everybody saw is all you focus on. Especially after the Cowboys just coasted to as easy a win as you'll ever get in the NFL last week. If there was ever in history a game where you'd think the Jets might sneak one by somebody it would be this one right here.
I think the Jets D will give Prescott who is far less mobile now a lot of problems, and it's not like he racked up big stats in a 40-0 win last week. I think Zach's line was actually better, but could be wrong. In any case, the QB match up isn't really all that one sided as some would believe. Certainly Zach could have another "Patriot Melt Down" against this defense, but people forget that before that happened, Zach was actually moving the team well. If he's overcome that fragile mindset - and what he did Monday gives us hope - he should be able to hang in there against the Dallas D and put some points on the board, especially with a week of Hackett being able to come up with a game plan built around him, and the running and short passing weapons he now has. I agree with some who have said they should let Zach take some early shots down field - maybe even the first play - to put that threat into the Cowboy's mind so they can't just load up the box. One of Zach's strengths has always been deep passing, so why not let him try a few? Again, this isn't a divisional game, and the consequence of losing isn't as great, whereas the possibility of unlocking Zach's confidence to play with freedom would be huge. The late news of losing Zuerlein is a big blow, but looking for the silver lining, maybe it forces them to go for it instead of settling for FGs and it pays off big (IOW: it forces Saleh to overcome his "lack of trust" in Zach @Jonathan_Vilma and take more chances ). Bottom Line: Jets 28 Cowboys 24.
I just don’t see the Jets getting into shootouts like that being advantageous to us. We should muck this thing up and try to squeak out of there with a 13-9 win. The Jets don’t have to completely hide Wilson to execute that. But they do need to avoid obvious situations where he need to read the defense. Roll him out, try to get single coverage on the outside and let him air it out down field. Deep overs. The Brown’s bootlegged Baker every 3 passes it felt like. The offense should look like Stefanski’s offense his first year in Cleveland. Putting him in shotgun and asking him to throw into a ball hawking zone defense is such a horrible idea. The kid doesn’t read defenses well.
I don't think the Jets will try to get into a shoot out or ask Zach to throw a lot, I just think the score I predicted will be the result of the Jets D and their success in executing the type of offense you suggest. I think the Jets can make some turnovers and put Dallas in a hole where they have to take more risks and the Jets will take advantage of that, and if that happens I believe Zach's confidence will grow and he'll do a good job of running the offense and putting points up even without having to throw 25+ times. Of course the Dallas D could flip that script and we're in deep trouble, but if I can't be optimistic, why bother?
Well you do have a cheerleader there ! https://bleacherreport.com/post/new-york-jets/467a474b-25ff-46bd-9fb1-03230530b8ea Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
At the stadium. Met Saleh's brother and Tippmanns brother oddly enough. Walking around the Miller lite House if anyone else is here
The fact that the Bills have scored 38 so far on the Saints but, the Jets only allowed them less than half that on Monday should give the Boys a little pause. Go Jets!!
Well. You guys know I was thrown into jail at Metlife after a fight with Bills fans and had to go thru Anger Management class before I was allowed to enter Metlife again. My wife’s only condition to allow me watch away games is that I wear regular clothes. That’s that.
I got 2 more away games left in regular clothes this year. Raiders and Bills. If no incidents I will be allowed to wear Jets stuff on away games starting next year
