The game plan last night was just dumb. The Bills have fast ends and linebackers. Spreading the offense out works to their advantage. We brought in two free agent tightends a year ago and spent two draft picks in two years on them. We also kept a fullback. Put the big boys on the field and stop trying to play the air raid college offense. Two tightends, two receivers and a back. Wilson looks more comfortable under center. Run, play action pass. Play ball control and let the defense and special teams cook. This spread shit isn’t gonna fly especially with the shaky line and backup QB.
I agree JV and Hackett isn’t the sharpest tool in the shed. he is used to Aaron Rodgers changing all his play calls at the line let’s pound the rock now
I’m just hoping with an entire week of prepping for ZW with the 1s and now the GP being for Zach, not Aaron. we see something change this week.
Yes we will be run heavy but defense will just start stacking the box. Last night I counted plenty of 8 man boxes Hard to run into that consistently NFL defenses are tough…we will see stacked boxes until Zach throws the defenses out of them Dallas’ D is freaking TOUGH…will be a tough day for our OL. Belichick will do what he does to Zach…
I agree. More 12 personnel now with Zach most likely being the starter for the rest of the year. Conk, Uzomah, and Ruckert are all very capable TEs in both facets of the game, utilize them.
They also have to let/encourage Zach to take some shots down field. It's not like he doesn't have the arm or ability. Of course the OL has to give him some time. But just pounding the rock and throwing screens is going to enable the defense to jam things up like they did last night.
This is honestly my biggest worry. Hackett works with Rodgers. Without him Hackett is a minus and we already have a huge minus in Zach Wilson. Terrible situation all around
Ruckert had some good blocks. On one of Hackett's many screen plays he did whiff on the edge on a guy but kudos to him because he didn't give up he went out and blocked someone else. When the ball carrier slipped the tackle of the guy he missed it ended up being an important block. Thats the biggest thing - just hit somebody and dont stop until you hear a whistle
You get it. Michah Parsons just put his bib on because he is going to FEAST on our O-Line. ZW will be mighty lucky to get out of Dallas on his own two feet. I'm debating not even bothering to watch this game. It's for sure going to be ugly.
The game plan was obviously different when Aaron Rodgers was QB. They had to adjust to Wilson's ability.
I mentioned this in another post…..let Zach air it out test him. It’s an NFC road game what’s the worst that can happen? Lose? NE week 3 more important in the grand scheme of things that’s the game plan they need to get right ….
can’t adapt to a guy who time and time again has the team out of Rythm and makes a lot of errand throws and can’t read a nfl defense. Only adjustment you can make is make him A game manager and to throw less than 10 times a games. But then the opposing teams will adjust too. Maybe he can run a Tim Tebow style offense where he is running more than he passes
They ran a lot of 3TE sets in the second half. It gave the run game a boost but defenses will be preparing for that going forward. It’s tough sledding to score points when teams don’t respect ability to stretch field.
We're gonna have trouble with every opponent that has a strong D front. Get the ball out quick to our speed players.
The Jets could have a big run blocking advantage all year long on the right side if they put Uzomah next to AVT and Becton. They absolutely washed down that side of the defense when they were blocking down a couple guys. They need to stop trying to run these zone schemes. Put a man on a man, pull a guard and hit them in the mouth. They have a huge line in terms of size. Another thing - McGovern fucking sucks so the fact that the rookie couldn’t unseat him is not good at all. It flies under the radar but that’s another huge failure of a position for JD.
Not so sure this fair. Tippman looked very good in preseason and I’m going to assume McGovern won out because you don’t want to put a rookie center in there with Aaron Rodgers who is changing plays and protections nonstop. Saleh also seems to have a history of favoring the vets too. How long did it take Hall to start taking the lions share of carries? Garrett Wilson week 1 last year was in no man’s land. Ruckert didn’t play at all last year and he was already a very good blocker. I don’t think they make the switch unless it gets real bad but I don’t worry about Tippman considering the plays he put on tape and the fact that CMG is on a one year deal.
Boyle knows the offense well. If Zach doesn't earn it next Sunday you can almost guarantee a QB change before a scheme change.
How many free runners have you seen since McGovern got here? Because I’ve never seen as many in my life since his arrival. The center is responsible for the blitz pickup especially with a young QB. If Tippman was better in the preseason (you might be right honestly), then the coaching staff is being morons with their inclination to bench younger players.
So I guess Dalvin Cook is the one they are going to bring along slowly. 33 excruciating yards. Was he trying to get his jersey number?
