This. We need to bring in a vet Zach was close to going out yesterday as well. Head shot but of course no penalty.
Maybe they can trade our new 2024 first round pick for a guy with a giant contract whose odds of getting injured behind our line are astronomical. Wait, no, that would be dumb.
No cause for a penalty, Wilson was a ball carrier at the time and subject to being tackled; there was no helmet to helmet contact or other unnecessary roughness.
I'm going to go out on a limb and recklessly speculate that after last night's performance Gipson is going to find more chances coming his way in the coming weeks.
During the broadcast they showed the play at least twice. Same thing at the 3AM game replay and I ran it back a couple of extra times. Any elbow was just part of being tackled legally. Did you see the game?
As bad as Howell looked yesterday against a potentially all-time bad Cardinals team, I would expect that Brissett will see the field for Washington at some point.
They need a QB, pretty much anyone would be better than the former #2 overall pick disaster. Might look into free agent offensive linemen as well.
Now that we have our 1st round pick back .... since it was technically already gone. Would JD offer a 1st round pick for Stafford? Or Kirk Cousins who is not under contract after this year, if Minnesota starts losing games.
This is a different era. Today Dilfer doesn’t make the playoffs, even with that D. Wilson has the worst metrics of any starter in the what was it, last 30 years or something like that. He couldn’t put the ball in the endzone if they started every drive on the opposing half yard line. Here’s what happens now: the D keeps us in the game for the first few games, but we lose cause we can’t score. The D gets frustrated, and then because they’re on the field all day the injuries start piling up, as will the losses. 5 wins maybe. What a shame
Disagree Milano lowered his shoulder and drove his shoulder/forearm right into Zach’s head. Also, not sure but I think Zach was still behind the line of scrimmage. I think that was a penalty. Sure as shit, had that been Mahomes or Burrow or Brady or Manning for SURE that’s gonna get called. Same with the one time a DL’s hand came down on Zach’s helmet while he was in the pocket. There was a play and they talked about it…the DL was trying to block a throw and his hand came down right on the helmet. Wasn’t called. And we’ve all seen Brady get that call, and much other lesser taps of the helmet, every single time. Total bullshit that none of those hits to the head were called. Total bullshit
It's okay to disagree but why do so many here want to make every Jet player a victim of the referees? Mahomes, Brady and Manning have nothing to do with the conversation. On the other hand, Allen got smacked around pretty good a few times last night and I saw no flags thrown then.
They should go after Jameis Winston. He’d have a defense that can mitigate some of his bonehead plays and he can put points on the board.
my initial reaction was like yours, wondering where the flag is, but the referees let the Jets get some big licks on Allen too so we can’t complain - they let the boys play football. much rather see them let the hits go then throw a flag every time someone takes a lick
I chatted with a Jets fan sitting next to me and we basically spent the night calling what would happen and doing the SOJ thing. For instance when Breece didn’t score I said they should have trotted field goal unit out on the next play, etc. He and his group left in the 3rd. After the game I kept thinking about that old Monday Night Miracle commercial where the Jets fan left the bar early and then had to watch through the window as the comeback happened.
They need to know if Rodgers is planning to return in 24. Go get Stafford if he isn't. You cannot waste this opportunity.
