Obviously the defense and special teams get most of the credit. Wilson’s interception was bad and he didn’t look great but that’s a tough spot and he was equally under siege as Rodgers was. He also got hit hard a couple times with no flags of course. I don’t have a ton of hope for him but he played decent all things considered.
He also stayed in the pocket much better than he did last year, and also, much better with the short passes too
You mean Garrett Wilson right? I mean most backups win that game, but yes I give Zach his props for fighting through that difficult game. Tells you how tough of a squad we are and how special we would be with ARod
He was also hit in the helmet on the pic and no flag was thrown ... he managed the game well. That's all we could ask. Don't need him to be Montana, just be Trent Dilfer
Bro he held onto the ball for a keeper near the goal line. That was when I thought this might fit actually be different. Holy shit it was electric in here.
Will having rodgers on sideline make a difference in his play and development this year? Maybe…. Hopefully ….
He’s also still the worst backup Qb in the league by far and he was our starter last year just let that sit in. We shouldn’t have to play that hard on D and specials teams just to barley scratch out a win. That’s insane
I thought he was done after that Milano hit. He would have gotten props from me for just staying in the game. I think young Zach's balls dropped a bit tonight, it was good to see.
I hope practicing with the 1's for an entire week will help. It is BS that you can unload on him and no penalties are ever called.
All that can be true but he played decently against a really good fast defense that owned our offensive line all night. I didn’t say he’s the next Peyton Manning, I said he played a decent game in a bad spot.
He looked better than he looked in his best games last year. I'm confident that if Rogers was playing this game wouldn't have gone into overtime with the way the defense was playing, but other than that INT, Wilson played a halfway decent game. He had a couple really solid passes into tight windows that he wouldn't have made last year. I'm willing to give him a shot this year. We may have no other choice.
No he is not the worst back up in the NFL….that’s going too far. He is definitely bottom third as a starter maybe even bottom 5 but as a back up he can survive for a few weeks. With this lights out defense and running game just run the ball. Let’s face it at this moment that’s all we got. He played gutsy tonight. Not great not even really well but definitely not terrible. Give credit where credits due - for now anyway. Next week he could revert to 2021-22….let’s hope not !
Hackett has got to come up with plays that play to our speed on offense. Running Dalvin Cook up the middle ain't gonna cut it.
