Russell over Quinn will be a move that Oakland will only make.

Cleveland or Detroit will be giddy if they can get Quinn.

I wonder who could throw farther.

Chad with 3 steps into it and full arm swing or Russell sitting down.

Langston Walker made a nice impression of a turnstile this year. With that said it reallyhard to make accurate judgement of any of Raiders olineman, because the oline coaching was that bad, (they were teaching blocking techniques no one uses and coaches couldn't design blocking scheme to pick up the simpliest blitz) Also its almost impossible for any olineman to do good in Raiders outdated system- when your QB taking seven step drops and holding the ball as long , as it takes for the WRs run their deep routes. The DES are just too fast today. You saw In Colt game what elite speed can do against the best OTs (freeney versus OGden)

JMO Just because a Olineman looks bad in one offense scheme, means hes going to look bad in another scheme. History has shown this numerous times. Lincoln Kennedy was the biggest bust with Falcons, Raiders got him and he was a Probowl RT. So many teams gave big money to Broncos FA Olineman , only to find out they weren't very effective not playing the schjeme they were most comfortable playing in Denver.

Raiders had most of there sucess running behind RG Kevin Boothe and RT Langston walker. Biggest complaint alot of raiders fans have with walker is at 6'8 345 pounds he known as Mr Softie. Probably too nice of guy who isn't as physical as he should be.

with the schemes they used in den i think me an you could have been effective to a degree.

thanks for the insight...i know he opted out of the rest of his contract, and we need depth on the line. hes a big, big boy....anyone 6'8" 350 pounds deserves a look...im hoping to see the jets bring in a guy with that kind of size. i know sometimes in raider-land "soft" is a moniker you get if you dont poke guys in the eyes and knee them in the balls. do you mean that, or he was consistantly beat at the LoS?

    again thanks for the reply.

    WTF is Jamarco Russo????

Will it matter who the Raiders pick as QB? They still have no OL to keep the guy alive for 6-7 games.

generally when you insult people, you want to spell the insult correctly. that way, you yourself dont look like the DOUCHE...

and how is it that russell was a huge secret before the bowl game??? LITTLE TIP...HES THE QB FOR LSU...those guys tend not to go unnoticed if you pay even a little attention to college football. i mean, he was only playing QB for a top 10 school....who would have even known he existed????

love how someone so"smart" can be so condecending.

How do the Raider fans feel about there new head coach? Seems like a pretty risky signing, guy has really not done much at all.

Well he's not the new head coach yet, but it's looking that way.

I'm cool with it. Davis has hired good coaches when they fit this description: 'too young", "not ready to be a head coach yet", etc. John Madden, Shanahan, and Gruden all fit that description. He also came very close to hiring Sean Payton in 2004 when people were saying the same things about him.

On the other hand, he's never made a good hire when it's been a retread with previous head coaching experience, a la Joe Bugel, Norv Turner, and Art Shell The Sequel.

That doesn't guarantee success with Sarkisian but I like what I've heard about him. And he was the Raiders QB coach a couple of years ago and they loved him, so he's been on Al's radar for a while now.

I also like the fact that his expertise is as a QB coach because they will most likely draft one in April. Not a coincidence I'm sure...

It's tough to make a fair evaluation of the Raiders' offensive line this year because they played in a Jurassic scheme that set them up for failure. I don't care if you're Jonathan Ogden, ask him to pass block for 5-6 seconds over and over again and see how many sacks he gives up.

Earier in Walker's career he played pretty well filling in for Lincoln Kennedy and looked like his heir apparent at RT. That's when the Raiders had a good scheme and got rid of the ball. This year his weaknesses were accentuated. It's possible he could be a good player in the Jets' scheme because they really make it easy on the tackles by running a lot of short drops and getting rid of the ball so quickly. One thing about Walker, he can definitely move people in the running game...
