Apparently the Dolphins extended Dom Capers contract and made him the highest paid assistant coordinator. Dom Capers is their defensive coach so they will definitely then be looking for someone Offensive minded as their HC. This is getting to be annoying from the dolphins. At first I really didn't care I figured we just find someone else worse comes to worse but this is getting ridiculous. It seems like the fans want Brian as well and the dolphins being desperate as they are and just wanting to please the fans might just pull the trigger and steal our guy. I guess we'll have to just sit it out and see what happens.:shit: :finssuck:

It's hard to believe that Schottenheimer will become the head coach of the Phins with so many other options available, but hey, according to the article, it's a possibility.

I just don't know anymore. Cam Cameron and Mike Tomlin seem like the other two options. But why would they hire Tomlin if Capers is the defensive mind in the picture?

Exactly I thought about the same thing. I think Tomlin is definitely out of the picture. I hope they hire Cam Cameron and I kinda of feel like it would be dick for Brian to leave.

As MParty7441 already mentioned in the other thread the signing of capers means the Dolphins are likely trying to figure out if they are going with Cameron or Schottenheimer right now.

I have this gut feeling we're looking for an OC at this point. There are a bunch of good candidates out there and we'll get one of them.

Brian Shottenheimer leaving means no Michael Turner to me. Shott would've been the one convincing Mangini that the first rounder is equal value for Turner. Oh well.

Either way, I have no idea how big of a loss Shott is. He did a good job this season, that's for sure.

No reason to be upset. A head coaching opportunity only comes around every so often and people have to take it when they can get it especially if they're young and it's a gift.

And on the bright side we have no idea if Schottenheimer can run a team yet. He hasn't been watching Belichik for 5 years like Mangini did.

Yea but he has been watching Marty Shottenheimer for 32 years and Mangini for 1.

It would totally suck if he left...

If he does, who are candidates to replace him? Maybe Norm Chow?

I wouldn't be too scared of a Schottenheimer-led outfit, not in the short term, and we'll find someone who can do just as well as OC.

this would be a loss for us,but a balsy move by Miami. Cleaning that mess up is quite a job. They are better off getting someone with some experience.

You can only interview without compensation if it is a better position than he already is. Norm Chow is already an offensive coordinator so that couldnt happen

We also have to think about if Brian wants that job. Just because he interviewed doesn't mean he is all over heels about becoming the HC for Miami. If you think about why would he want that job. Here are my Pro's and Cons if I was Brian

    Cons-
1.Playing in a brutal AFC east division for years to come
2.No Qb that I can trust with knowing my offense
3.Will be hated by Jets fan
4.Will definitely have better options in years to come
5.Old defense that is lingering down
    6.Poor cap space
7.Could be part of something special with the Jets
    8.Does he really feel ready?
9.Too much expectations. They want to win now

    Pro
    1.More money
    2.Its Miami
3.CANT REALLY THINK OF ANY MORE PROS

Is wayne taking lessons from the al davis school of ownership? Let your head coach assemble his own staff. Not sure how desirable it is to work on a team when your title is head coach, yet the owner decides who runs half your team.

If he goes to Miami, we will atleast win 2 games a year. :)

He isn't ready to be a head coach I would say.
