Last year week 1 Buffalo chipped the shit outta Aaron Donald, they would bring a TE or something in motion and as the ball was snapped he would go down and head right for Donald. It was very effective With 3 sacks in 2 games against Buffalo last year Quinnen Williams could get the same treatment tonight. But I will say our pass rushing depth could still take advantage of that. If guys like Huff & Jermaine Johnson can win on the edges they wont be able to do that with Williams
We should own the right side. Huff did last year, now throw a better Jermaine Johnson in there, plus speedy guys like Huff and McDonald and you got yourself a stew.
Agreed still worried about Allen running though, those guys on the edge can push him up in the pocket but it could be a long night if he takes off every time. I liked the Jets approach to it last year though, Allen is going to run but make sure he pays for it with a big hit every time he does and maybe he will do it less. Even in the Bills win in their snowy building last december, the Jets got some big shots on Allen
I know it won't be a thing but I almost wonder if they'd put McDonald at LB and have him spy Allen the entire time. That will probably Quincy Williams. That's also dangerous but I guess that's why the Bills are good.
McDonald ran a 4.62 to 4.65 at his pro day--didn't run at the combine. I don't know that either he or Quincy are quick enough. Tony Adams ran sub 4.5 and Adrian Amos ran 4.56 some time ago and Ashtyn's probably quick enough but can they get Josh down easily?
I definitely meant Huff because of his burst and ability to get moving in the right direction very quickly. My bad. They wouldn't do it regardless.
That would be a mistake IMO, Allen would run right over those safeties and they should be used in coverage. The script is already out to some degree on Buffalo. Double team Diggs and don't blitz. For the Jets that would mean safety help on Diggs, Sauce Gardner on Gabe Davis. With Mosely & Quincy Williams as the LBs it certainly makes us susceptable to Allen runs but you take the occasional 6-8 yard rush outta him over the 20 yard pass and you direct those big LBs to deliver some pain when they finally do bring him down
I personally think we have to stuff up the middle and prevent TE, RB, and Josh scrambles the best we can. I think we therefore need to let Diggs operate under normal circumstances knowing he's going to get his. Just my opinion of course--could be wrong.
Not that the game isn't important by itself but considering AFC Powerhouses Chiefs and Bengals lost, a win tonight will have us be 1 game up over Chiefs, Bengals, Chargers and Bills. Not too shabby. Go Jets!!!!!
just wanna say I appreciate the moderators here. I poked around a bills message board, holy hell the place is a mess and they hand out bans just for negative predictions/takes!
Are they a bigger forum than us? I mean do they have more active posters? We have around 100 active posters who post or visit daily. So it makes it easy to manage things. Some big forums have that issue. Thanks for the recognition though. Much appreciated
