Best answer here in my opinion ….. along with the 1985 team in terms of talent. This 2022 roster is pretty stacked but let’s see how it plays out first ….. as a Jets fan I’m always waiting for the other shoe to drop out of habit unfortunately
This roster has 3 guys on it from when JD took over 4 years ago..... And one is Hennessy the LS. Q and Mosley are the other 2. I get that there is a lot of turn over in the NFL, but this seems like more than usual. Whatever happens, this is def JDs baby.
Just looked at Pats 2020 vs todays 53 and found 8 still on squad so maybe you're on to something. Interestingly 7 are on the Defensive side. David Andrews Deatrich Wise Ja'Whaun Bentley Josh Uche Anfernee Jennings Myles Bryant Jonathan Jones Kyle Dugger
This is correct. Nice post. They started 10-1. But of course, 1968 was the ultimate champion. I think the concept is to compare all other teams except '68. Agree or disagree, what a great topic to debate!
Assuming decent health I think its fair to assume that ARod and the offense will actually score some points this season and be fairly exciting and dynamic while doing so. What I'm almost daring to be optimistic about is this defense may potentially be awesome. The front guys just come in waves, there aren't really any glaring weaknesses, Saleh is a defensive guy to begin with, and I feel like quite a few of the players, especially Sauce and Q Williams may be more than just good players looking to make a paycheck in the NFL. Time will tell but a few of these guys might be "championship players" like the Patriots of the 00's and 10's or the Chicago Bulls of the 90's always seemed to find. If any of that comes true and our defense actually surprises to the upside maybe we really will be able to throw a few boquets eventually.
One thing I look forward to is the running game once Hall is back full strength and Cook is up to speed. The Jets just went through preseason no where near a full strength running game. The Jets finished the preseason with the 5th most points in the whole NFL. (I know, it's only preseason, but it's something) *Ah, forgot the Jets played 4 games and the rest played 3 (except cleveland) Works out to about 8th best at 20+/game
When Weeb ran the team he got to keep for himself all the money he didn't spend on players. Hence, no depth and starters had to play the whole way in 5 pre-season games. Times have changed.
Oldest roster on the league, according to Spotrac. That's from being the 3rd youngest roster in 2021.
Few of those guys won’t even be here next year so we go right back to being one of the youngest again
Still very worried about this o Line. Hope they stay healthy and major rebound from Laken and Becton.
He has a losing record as a GM.. I'm just as excited as you but let's win some games before we talk extension.
