I haven't seen a simple cutdown tracker, so if we can keep this without discussion, & discuss in the cutdown discussion thread... please add as you hear about them, so there's a central place we all can look. (Mods: if there is a tracker, please delete this post) So far... (confirmed by the team) The Jets started their roster cutdowns on Monday by releasing 3 players. The Green & White also placed CB Jimmy Moreland, who injured his hand in the preseason finale against the Giants, on injured reserve. OL Greg Senat, LB Pita Taumoepenu, the XFL Defensive Player of the Year, and LB Nick Vigil were released. Taumoepenu registered a sack Saturday in the preseason finale while Moreland had 15 tackles, 3 PDs and 1 INT in summer action. Others from various sources... OL Adam Pankey RB Zonovan Knight S Trey Dean LB Sam Eguavoen S Marquis Waters LB Claudin Cherelus WR Alex Erickson ...

Not bad idea. Keep only the transactions in this thread and discuss your opinion about cuts in the discussion thread linked below. https://forums.theganggreen.com/threads/tuesday-august-29-cutdown-day.99189/
Zack Rosenblatt: All in one place, some notable #Jets bubble players that made the cut — and some who didn’t — based on who is at practice: In TE Kenny Yeboah WR Irv Charles WR Jason Brownlee WR Xavier Gipson LB Chazz Surratt S Ashtyn Davis CB Bryce Hall FB Nick Bawden Out TE Zack Kuntz QB Tim Boyle DT Tanzel Smart WR Malik Taylor OL Trystan Colon
Zack Rosenblatt: #Jets initial roster based on practice. Adds up to 55, so still a move or two to be made. QB (2): Aaron Rodgers, Zach Wilson RB (5): Breece Hall, Dalvin Cook, Izzy Abanikanda, Michael Carter, Nick Bawden WR (7): Garrett Wilson, Allen Lazard, Randall Cobb, Mecole Hardman, Jason Brownlee, Xavier Gipson, Irv Charles TE (4): Tyler Conklin, CJ Uzomah, Jeremy Ruckert, Kenny Yeboah OL (10): Duane Brown, Mekhi Becton, Max Mitchell, Billy Turner, Laken Tomlinson, AVT, Wes Schweitzer, Joe Tippmann, Connor McGovern, Carter Warren DE (6): Jermaine Johnson, JFM, Carl Lawson, Bryce Huff, Will McDonald, Micheal Clemons DT (4): Quinnen Williams, Al Woods, Quinton Jefferson, Solomon Thomas LB (5): CJ Mosley, Quincy Williams, Jamien Sherwood, Chazz Surratt, Zaire Barnes CB (5): Sauce Gardner, DJ Reed, MCII, Bryce Hall, Justin Hardee (Echols suspended) S (4): Jordan Whitehead, Tony Adams, Ashtyn Davis, Adrian Amos ST (3): Greg Zuerlein, Thomas Morstead, Thomas Hennessy
If I had to guess, they'll cut 1 more of those WRs (my money's on Irv Charles) and 1 more LB (probably Surratt) to get down to 53 before 4.
out is out for sure, but the ins could still be out. saleh warned players they could be cut during practice
This is just my opinion but I feel like Brownlee has a lot more upside than Taylor does. Feels like Taylor is what he is at this point, a fringe roster kinda guy. Brownlee may never develop but I'd rather keep the 24 year old UDFA over the 27 year old who has 7 total catches over the past 2 seasons. Hardman got a decent contract this offseason so he was basically a lock for a roster spot.
IDK why we keep bawden ever. i'm hoping he doesn't make it charles i dont' get, I think taylor was better and rodgers seemed to like him. Brownlee and gipson earned spots for sure kuntz out isn't shocking. probably try to PS him. he's raw surratt is a little suprise but I guess we need 5 LBers and we are thin there no JCB is shocking, unless they plan to IR him. we'll need to cut a player to make room for echols after week 1 overall though pretty much as expected
Hardman's contract keeping him on the roster. I get it. Brownlee otoh, seems to not have the hands he should.
hardman is a gadget WR4 really. with davis retiring that leaves a big hole. we are 1 garrett wilson injury away from a shit WR group. We could really use another WR2/WR3 quality WR right now. I'd love to get an evans or hollywood brown if possible.
