They don't? Wow. I didn't know that. I haven't watched the show year in year out but I've seen it in years other than when the Jets were on it. So we are basically watching a higher video quality version of One Jets Drive? That's disappointing. I'm not looking for controversy but I was expecting more from this. I fully expected Becton to be focused more - not for gossip, but it's an important story for the Jets' season.
I agree about Becton. After all, that's a pretty big story. He hasn't played in two seasons, the surgeries that he has been through, and the work that he has had to put in to lose the weight and get back in shape. I think the reason they haven't is that they couldn't talk about that without also talking about all the negative crap said about Becton by the NY media and the fanbase on social media. They don't want to dredge all that back up. They want to move forward and keep things positive.
They can ask for whoever they want but that player and the team have the right to say no. Like I said about Becton, I wouldn’t be shocked even a little bit if both he and the team didn’t want any distractions around him considering the stringent plan they had to get him to where he is now. I would have loved to be along for the ride but I am just as happy regardless. and it’s most definitely a massive step up from One Jets Drive. Those guys have done some really good work and they have a lot of strength but knowing how to put together an entertaining half hour is not one of them.
I can't remember any references at all to fans on social media in any episode of Hard Knocks I've seen. It's also rare when one medium diverts much attention away from itself and its focus to present what other media are doing. I think you give way too much power to things that don't affect what happens on the field. I would hope that Hard Knocks is looking to be objective in its coverage and is not focused on "keeping things positive" beyond showing the NFL in it's best light. Controversy is good.
Last time hard knocks had that famous scene with Cromartie struggling to name all his kids. There's no way a scene like that would even be allowed today. Total pussies
