I don't think Ezekiel Elliott is worth pursuing. He has almost 2000 rushing attempts in his career and has steadily declined the last several years. He's never been a prolific pass catcher either. I'd be more apt to stick with what we have then sign a plodding cement shoed RB that is most likely washed. Just my opinion.
I’m tied of this guy, and just saw a report, maybe it’s true/maybe it’s not, saying the Jets feel this guy used them. And ya know what? The longer is drags out, the more I believe it. Also, who is he? He got cut from a pretty good team that’s trying to win now, 1/2-2/3 of the league thinks he’s shot, and plays a position that younger more talented/productive guys don’t get paid at. He should be RUNNING to sign here!
I've posted this before but I'll say again. Our RBs are young, and young guys have a tendency to make mistakes. Maybe a mistake comes at a time in a game when it doesn't matter much, but one mistake at a critical moment could be the difference between whether the Jets move on or begin preparing for next season. With Rodgers, we're not going to get many "next seasons." Therefore, I wouldn't be opposed if the Jets signed a vet such as Cook, Elliot or Fournette. They may not have the same "oomph" they had when they were rookies, but they do have something left in the tank, plus knowledge and experience which could give the Jets an edge for a deep run in post season. If the Jets were in rebuild mode then no, you don't go after these guys, but the Jets are no longer in rebuild mode, they are in "compete for the top prize mode," and these guys could be difference makers.
Ya know eggs I find odd though? Juxtaposing the 90’s to now: 90’s backs carried it more and weren't part of committees. Defense were bigger and built to stop the run vs now. There were far less safety rules this harder/more dangerous hits, plus concussion stuff. Yet despite all of that, those old school backs lasted longer
Ya know what? The jokes gonna be on him, idk what kinda $ he’s looking for. The one thing I wonder about though, and that’s JD tends to slow play things too much, so maybe he’s trying to drag this out and save a $ or 2. And if that’s the case he needs to stop, because we need all hands on deck immediately
When you dig deep into Dalvin's stats... a pretty picture it ain't. Jets would be well served to pass on Cook... let our young backs carry the load.
