Look I loved Mekhi Becton coming out of the draft but every scouting report worth a damn mentioned his massive size and concerns about how the lower body will hold up. -Becton wasn't struck by lightning or hit by a bus, he has had problems with leg injuries, those well documented concerns were accurate Duane Brown is about to turn 38. There's a reason 99% of players dont make it to age 38, players get injured more the longer they try to play. So, yes, these were places where Joe Douglas could've & should've been able to FORESEE injury problems. And at the most important spot on the offensive line no less
Cimini: A postcard day in Florham Park, NJ. Final practice before Thursday night’s opener. #Jets Mekhi Becton looks great, having dropped about 50 lbs. He’s slated to play Thursday night — his first game action in almost two years. #Jets
Rosenblatt: It looks like John Franklin-Myers has returned to practice. Missed a few. #Jets Staley: Jets WR Corey Davis stretching with the rest of the team. He finally returned yesterday after battling an illness Faria: JFM was back yesterday but second straight day of work is a good sign he’s good to go.
Faria: I don’t see CJ Mosley working out with the other linebackers right now. May be getting a rest day but will learn more later #Jets Nasrildeen taking Mosley’s place right now. Depth at linebacker for the #Jets is very thin
Hughes: Double duty today. First up is the #Jets. No pads today. Likely a light one after long one on Monday. They fly to Ohio tomorrow.
Faria: First team offense starts out in team. Zaire Barnes replacing Mosley now at LB. JFM and Lawson are the DEs. Will this matter at all on Thursday? #Jets
I will be at the training camp on Saturday. August 5th. Anybody else going? @GQMartin - I might have 1 extra ticket for you if interested.
Faria: Wes Schweitzer back as the starting center so far. Another good run from Bam Knight #Jets Rosenblatt: Wes Schweitzer getting the reps with Aaron Rodgers today again at center. It’s Schweitzer vs Connor McGovern. #Jets
Hughes: #Jets CB Sauce Gardner comes up for a would-be TFL on Michael Carter, who tried to bounce a run. Always like when corner plays run like that. True complete package. The guy is so good. Side note: Gardner looks like he has different handshakes for each DB.
Rosenblatt was asked this question on Twitter, felt relevant to share. @MattNY_13: Does Tippmann actually look bad or are they just playing patient with his development? Rosenblatt: Development
Cimini: Garrett Wilson and Corey Davis are out again. Wes Schweitzer gets another shot at center. #Jets (Saw CD was practicing but maybe they're holding him out of teams?)
Faria: Jerome Kapp makes a catch and run on a good throw from Streveler. Good route and the throw led him to get more YAC. Offense, as a whole looks better than last practice’s end. #Jets
