With all the media focus on AR & Cook, I've been trying to pay attention to how the kids are doing. A coupla guys I'm really expecting huge jumps, from last season... Micheal Clemons, & Jermaine Johnson. Everything I'm seeing about these kids, has really gotten me hyped to see them in action. There's also Tony Adams, Jeremy Ruckert, & Jamien Sherwood that have my attention. I'm wondering who others see as taking a major step this season, Sauce & GW aside? Just as an aside, over the off-season there was lots of discussion about JD, & how well/bad he's done overall. Lots of discussion about his drafts. At this moment, seeing the team's overall transformation in the past few years, how anyone can be down on JD is puzzling. There've been some big misses/mistakes obviously, some still up-in-the-air, Becton & Zach at the head of the list, but the infusion of talent, especially at skill positions, is amazing. So, my kudos to JD, as pre-season games begin... .
Anybody watch this guy's vids? He's economical. Pleasing, straightforward style. Anyhoo, he likes Carter II and Huff. If we're still counting them as young. I hope this isn't spam. This person isn't me or known to me.
I agree with all the young players you've mentioned. MC II has been very good and according to Saleh, still learning. I'd love it if Becton has a breakout, dominant year and makes All Pro, but if he can just stay healthy and play close to his potential, I'll be happy. If Brownlee makes the team, he could surprise as a contributor.
All great choices, my favorites to explode this year are Defense - JJ, the beast, MC II Offense -Hall, AVT, Ruckert My biggest wishes are for Becton and Adams to take it to the house
I'm also saying Jermaine Johnson. My runner up is Jamien Sherwood. Reports are good and we didn't let Kwon leave if the coaches didn't feel Sherwood was ready to take that next big step.
Clemons gotta step it up if he wants to out-macho J.J. The league doesn't let players use barb-wire bats on the field...
JJ is going to be our new Shaun Ellis, and hopefully McDonald the new Abraham..... Clemons the sparkplug that ignites the engine....
Clemons played with a violent streak last year as a rookie. Hope they get him on the field more this year. He looks impactful from what I saw.
I hope they don’t bury Michael Clemons and I like him as a breakout choice. I’d like to see a lot of double tightend sets this year. We are light at receiver and thin at tackle. Let’s put a bunch of beef on the field. Hopefully that paves the way for Ruckert to get some run.
And the sad thing about the infusion of talent... some talented kids are gonna be cut. Not something I'm used to in Jetslandistan. With the change of rules re: cuts, and a thousand+ players now being cut at once, there'll probably be a few viable OLman available soon, who may be able to help solidify the team's biggest question mark. I was hoping one of the young OLman would be on my list to breakout, but so far, they're all having health or consistency issues. .
I'm nervous about Sherwood. He weighs only 215 lbs. He hasn't played much, but from what I've seen in the past, he doesn't plug the gaps very well, easily blocked. He may be Darron Lee II. Hope he proves me wrong.
One player I'd be interested in seeing is FA RB Travis Dye, USC. He had some pretty explosive runs in college but then injured his knees, so I don't know how far along he is in recovery. Also, the RB room is pretty full right now so I'm pretty sure he won't be on the roster. Still interested to see what he can do.
