Hopefully, the fans in attendance yesterday chanting "Dalvin Cook" don't go full Vick Blows on us if he doesn't sign with the Jets. Talking god-tier friend zone status. What an embarrassment.
Funniest thing I've read here this morning was the remark about 'No Chanting' signs for the fans attending practices.
Tom Pelissero @TomPelissero How did four-time Pro Bowl playmaker Dalvin Cook’s visit with the #Jets go? His agent Zac Hiller texted: “You’ll see.” Hard Knocks cameras followed Cook for the entire visit. New York hosts Cook’s brother James and the #Bills six weeks from tonight. God I'm so over this dude already...
100% spot on. Mac was not a GM, period. If AR is here today is simply because of the team JD built around him. A major undertaking, with hit and misses, but starting from nothing, a laughing stock no one wanted to go to, built literally from the ashes of the team Mac left behind.
He will be a Dolphin soon. Visit the Jets, appear to be interested, and drive up the price. I’ve seen this happen time after time.
This will be embarrassing and a big F up if Joe Douglas can't seal the deal. From Jeff Darlington ESPN NFL Insider on Cook's visit to the Jets: "Well look, bizarre is a good word to use and honestly a sentiment that's shared by some people that I've spoken to within the Jets organization as well. They're wondering too what exactly are the motives here of Dalvin Cook. I think that we have to be very careful here, not everybody in the Jets feels that way, but there is a wonder here. Is he using the Jets for leverage right now? Is he trying to ramp up potential offers with other teams to get maybe a spot on those rosters? Would the Miami Dolphins be that team?" You dont invite a guy to watch your practice if you think he might sign with a division rival
Eh I don’t think it’s that big of a deal. Dalvin Cook isn’t exactly a Rhodes Scholar or a QB that can process information at a high level to even be in the league. I doubt there’s much he could’ve gotten. The longer it goes though, the less I want him. A runningback with limited camp spells injury disaster.
Not a great take in my opinion. There's nothing Cook saw that would help an AFC East rival. Those teams would probably get as much from watching Hard Knocks. Douglas is a guy that does his due diligence. I'm sure he offered him what he feels is a fair contract for what the Jets would require of him. He either accepts it or he passes. I doubt it was some great offer that will help him get more from Miami. Cook is a luxury. The Jets don't need him. He would make the team better but you have to weigh that against what he would cost. We also don't know how far along Hall is with his recovery. All of this is a factor. The "iF wE dON't sIGhN cOOk tHeN JD fUckEd uP" narrative is your typical darksider take that really isn't based on reality.
Any help the NYJ may have given him to raise a Dolphins offer is no longer applicable with all the chitter chatter thats gone on about it. Apparently Dalvin isn't the smartest guy in the room.
Utter rubbish. Cook ain’t calling the shots, particularly if demanding a prime role versus Hall. JD needs to stand firm as to what’s best for this team . If Cook has extra demands let him go and fuck him. Let Miami over pay and give him the top role. Good for JD to hold his ground. Sick of these dumb shit NFL insiders. Cook at training camp does not mean two shits from a competitive perspective.
I suppose but I don't like the idea of having to defend Dalvin Cook twice a year either. I guess I will never understand the red carpet BS they always try here, its gotta be a Woody thing cause multiple regimes have done it here and I dont think other teams are on their knees that much
It probably is a Woody thing. His was buttering him all up and Cook hardly pay any attention to practice at all.
