Those black alternate unis they wore last year (?) were pretty badass! I voted for the Namath/Parcells era, because those were the ones they were wearing when I became a fan
Thanks. That isn't a real Kelly green, however. it's lighter than the shade they wore afterwards, but isn't Kelly green.
In looking at it more closely, it could be that it was just the way the sunlight was hitting it that made the green appear lighter. Maybe the Kelly green is just a mis-remembrance on my part. I still would prefer Kelly green or something like that shade.
The 1968s were classics and in a strange way the 1980s unis are looking alot better to me now then when they ditched them in 1990.....my personal opinion is when they changed the uniforms in 2019 they should have kept the original style from the 1963-77 but changed the color to kelly green from hunter green....
Anything with black (or blue I guess) gets eliminated the classic look at one point I loved the most but lately for nostalgia reasons I’m all in on the 80s style
Not surprised that more people like the classic look than the 1980s look, but I am surprised at how many people like the hunter green.
Kelly and Hunter green are in their own league. Something about those greens that popped. The green in the current jersey is crap, but I think every jersey looks cheap. Idk what Nike does but their colors are very bland and washed out in NFL uni's. Weird side note, maybe just being a kid but almost every one of my favorite teams had green minus the Yankees (A's are my 2nd favorite team). Jets Celtics Whalers
Any that don't have green pants. There is no scenario where the green pants look better than the white pants.
I’m excited to see the 80s ones again. Just wish they were the alternates to the originals as the main uniforms, instead of what we have today.
To complicate things further...Someone posted this on Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/nyjets/comments/b9w7pg/new_green_comparison_to_those_of_the_past/
My preference would be the Original "Kelly" green, the 1980's "Kelly" green, and the Color Rush green which is the closest to Kelly green of them. The other greens are too dark, but my main objection is that they're too much like other teams green.
That's the problem. Only the top left color is kelly green, I don't know what the name of the green is to its right, but it isn't Kelly green, and I don't think that was the color of green on the unis in the '80s. I think it was the one on the left. The same thing with Hunter Green, the one on the left is the correct shade of green. I doin't know what that mess is on the right is.
The problem is that there is no right or wrong concept of any color name. Any manufacturer can use any name they see fit. There are standards used in certain industries but even then a printed color may differ from a painted color and textile colors may vary by type of fabric. Pantone.com and canva.com are two good sources for standardization and understanding that concept.
