The color is not right on those 1982 unis. They were kelly green and that is not kelly green. The color is also not correct on the Namath era unis. my favorites are the Namath era kelly greens...by far! I don't always understand the love for the sack exchange era look...I like it better than the current and sure, those are the ones I grew up watching really, but honestly the logo is kindergarten-esque (though still better than the current one which is even worse)
I like the Namath kelly greens the best, but for some reason I want to see the Jets wear the 1980s look going forward or something similar to it. Let the current guys try to build a legacy with that look rather than be overshadowed by Namath.
1. Classic Kelly Green. 2. Modern Kelly Green - no black trim. I'm against the whole "black" look. I think it's derivative, and a phony way to convey "toughness". The Jets colors have always been green and white, and within that, I prefer the Kelly green because no other team has that shade of green AFAIK. I also would prefer that they wear white pants all the time, just changing the color of the jersey, the way it used to be. For the helmet, I prefer the Namath era version, but can handle the "swoosh" version. That said, I'm not opposed to a complete redesign incorporating something like a fighter jet, or maybe large jet wings that go from the middle front of the helmet to the back...sort of how the Eagles helmet with wings is. My 2 cents.
I don't get how uniforms like our current ones even manage to get released. How do they get past focus groups? Or do the focus groups consist of Linkedin weirdos who've never seen football before?
The Namather era unis were not kelly green. I don't know where that comes from, but they were a hunter or forest green, much darker than Kelly green.
Actually I think the 1965 version - Namath's first season - were Kelly green, and then they went to a darker shade. Although I wouldn't hate the classic uni's in a darker green, as I said, I prefer the Kelly green because no other team has that color.

I must not have been able to see any of the games that season, or blanked it out, because I only remember the darker green with Namath. I'm actually glad to hear that the original green was Kelly green. That's all the more reason to go back to kelly green and get rid of this ugly dark green.
