Zack Rosenblatt on Twitter: "The #Jets placed RB Breece Hall, WR Randall Cobb, TE C.J. Uzomah and DB Jarrick Bernard-Converse on the PUP list to open training camp. They can be activated at any point during camp." / Twitter
They are completely babying Hall at this point with apparent extra caution and perhaps focus on a more reduced role early in the season.
Hall didn't get 25 touches in any game last year that he played in. He was under 20 in 4 of the 6. I won't count Denver. There is no reason to not expect Hall to be ready week 1 with 12-15 touches.
And I have no problem with that at all, but the kid will be ready to play week 1. Hall is an alien of an athlete. I fully expect to see the Hall we saw last year when they take the cuffs off.
The heart of the season will be deadly for the opposition with an unchained BH and Co. They can pick their poison.
I’m apologize for the post. I was trying to say there are different expectations btw Hall and Dye. We don’t need Breece in the pre-season we need him in the post season. I expect him to get 15 SNAPS a game to start the season (exaggerating slightly) I wanted a top RB in the draft (reportedly, the Jets agreed). My ideal situation would be trading/getting Barkley on a home town discount where he knows he’s the featured back for 6-8 games a season. I think having 2 featured backs is a way to value the position without overworking the player where they become overvalued and injury prone on their second contracts.
You want Barkley? lol why would we give up the draft capital for that rental when we can sign a lot of good backs to a one year deal at a fraction of the cost money wise and draft capital wise? I don’t get that at all
Word like “hometown discount” and “2 featured backs” and “without overworking….injury prone on their second contracts” and you still thought I saw him as a rental? Interesting. That being said, if I were going to trade for a rental (we can’t trade our 1st or 2nd rd picks) I’d go with Jacobs from LV.
What indicates that the Jets reportedly agreed on wanting a top back in the draft? They took a fast non-bell cow in the 5th round and that’s it.
The Jets were reportedly in on Hill despite his past so idk if its a dealbreaker. Tbh, I don’t know the details except it happened a while ago.
You missed the entire point even with those words that you keep highlighting it’s not a good move rental or not lol
