https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id...different-jets-training-camp-patient-approach What an addition Rodgers is going to be. Not only will he be the best QB we've ever had in the modern era, he will elevate the play of everyone around him. He seems like he's really matured and relishes the role he will play for this young team!
I love it. I love every second of it. If Aaron brings a championship to the Jets, he will not have to pay for beer or dinner again in New York Metro area. He will be a legend. If Saleh's defense works properly and if offense stays injury free we will make some noise. 10 years of misery has to end gloriously. Come on Aaron, deliver us a championship already! J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS
My fear is the defense takes a step backwards. When you factor in all the backup QB's we played last year, their ranking is over inflated. We are still weak at safety and especially linebacker. This worries me. But I believe the offense will be fire. We might be back the mid 1980's KOB shootout games
Well, I know what you mean. Like @bicketybam says defense can take a step back, offensive line might have some injuries, G.Wilson might come back to earth with sophomore slump. But dude for the first time in a long time we have something to be excited about. I decided to let my emotions run high. Go Jets!
Just the fact that we have a QB that we aren't embarrassed with is phenomenal! Rodgers is going to ball this year!
Screw that... I'm stoked... but I know how to pace myself and more importantly... brace myself. I never forget it's the Jets... and the Jets have a unique ability to break my heart,
You and however many of us there are out there. That said, I don't care any more. I'm excited and am going to enjoy this year as fully and as long as I can. If they break my heart again, then so be it. There's not much left to break.
I couldn't possibly agree more. I remember when I first posted that Rodgers could be a mentor for Zach and help him develop and so many posters scoffed at the notion of Rodgers helping anyone but himself. I also see that none of them have admitted that they were wrong about that. He is going to make a huge difference in our offense for as long as he plays and is here, but his impact will also continue for as long as the young WRs, RBs, TEs, and OL are here. They should still play at that high level, and will themselves become leaders demanding perfection and attention to detail from younger players as they come in.
Rodgers has a reputation of being a me first guy but I think he will change the narrative with everyone but the most ardent anti-Rodgers crowd.
Yeah well somebody already made the comment about dumb takes. That has to be at the top of the list. Don't forget some people wanted Garoppolo, the guy who hasn't passed a physical yet. Even stupider.
I think it may be an undeserved reputation, but even if it was true in the past, he seems to have mellowed/changed/grown up.
I don’t think we’re as weak in S and LB as people think but with Mahomes, Allenx2, Dak, Hurts, Herbert, Bijan, Payton, and McDanielx2 on the schedule they’ll possibly look weak…. Overrated last year + tough schedule this year = a reason for people to complain all season long.
I think it's a little early to anoint Rodgers as a savior... let's see how he handles some adversary. We may have a shiny new first ballot HOF Super Bowl winning quarterback leading the charge... ...but we're still the NY Jets... we could fuck up a picnic in the park...
The media loved Rodgers from a football perspective until he used his own brain and came out against vaccine mandates and (arguably) lied about his vaccine status. Once he did that, he was demonized as a terrible me first person. Not saying he's perfect. I think some of his family stuff is weird. But really he's not all that different from a Tom Brady in that he is a type A perfectionist who expects more of himself and teammates. We're used to having untalented ultra nice guys at the helm... so this is new territory.
We were super healthy and did player a bunch of backup QBs but just to play devils advocate here. What if we actually take the ball away? We were historically bad at recovering fumbles last year. Throw in the fact that the offense is going to be light years better and now the defense can pin its ears back? Lawson off another year achillies. Jermaine Johnson 2nd year. Clemons 2nd year. Huff and McDonald explosiveness coming off the edge. Quinnen and Quentin Jefferson pass rushing from the inside. That DL is going to be disgustingly good
I haven't been against keeping Zach to learn under Rodgers. However, I HAVE been against him being the primary back up. I know its probably unrealistic to do it any other way, but it just feels stupid.
