So your 'd-bag' swipe doesn't qualify as disparaging? . What would? .... adjectivally calling him an "fck-in d-bag'?

So, a run-of-the-mill pejorative swipe is to serve as 'ipso facto' ordained knowledge just because you said so? . Nah, you're not self-absorbed..

    You were saying?.....

You know where you can stow your "ipso facto," Joe. I believe he is a crackpot and provided context with my claim. You need not agree; in fact, your strenuous defense of the guy only bolsters my opinion - birds of a feather and all that. At least, for the moment anyway, you've dropped your bogus claim of partisan politics being involved.

Incredible that this two man Youtube channel has already determined the cause of the accident and reports it at 5:55 of the video while dozens of actual scientists and engineers will take months or years to possibly determine what caused the failure of the Titan. You get what you pay for. I wonder if this is the same group that showed the craft bursting into flames as it imploded in an earlier video.

That thing was being piloted with a PS3 controller?

You have to feel bad for the kid on the Titan. Apparently he was terrified of going, but decided to suck it up and do it for his Dad since it was father's day. Must be devastating for the family. There is a good chance it happened so fast, they didn't even know what was going on, BUT they did have a built in alarm system for hull integrity issues, so it's entirely possible they were warned before the implosion.

Sadly, it seems this whole thing could have been prevented if Rush didn't cheap out on the design. It seems like the sub was on borrowed time from the moment of it's first dive and wore down each time it went down. Carbon fiber and adhesives is clearly not the standard in the submarine industry. They use steel because it can "bend" without compromising the structure & shape.

I read that the banging noise was from a military ship that was near the area. The ocean is huge and there are tons of sounds and it carries differently underwater. There are several fish that actually sound like banging as well. I'd expect an SOS type message, rather than a few bangs every 15 minutes, or whatever that was.

Hey I think I’ll replace one of the most unique, iconic logos on par with Apple’s logo, with a generic X

    what an idiot

Wouldn’t the correct statement be no entrepreneur talk?

    Musk is not a politician.

It was a comment made in jest. When Musk was brought up earlier several people said we aren't allowed to discuss politics, which was strange. I agree with you, he's not a political figure

DNA testing is being performed on recovered human remains. I'm not sure how much that actually matters but watch it be the arrogant tool who killed everybody.

I found this gem in my travels:

Mr. Rush, killed onboard the Titan, told McCallum that he took the doubts over Titan's safety as a "serious personal insult".

"We have heard the baseless cries of 'you are going to kill someone' way too often," he wrote.

Ha, anyone remember "too big to fail"? This is a case of too rich and too full of unfounded grandiosity to die. I don't know why these assholes think just because they're rich they're physically impervious and somehow immortal. This jackass may as well as skydived into the Grand Canyon without a parachute.

You want to kill yourself with your stupidity and blind arrogance go right ahead, but when you take other people with you, that makes them unwitting sheep who didn't deserve to die and you a murderer. I feel sorry for that kid, not much sympathy for the others to speak of.

I wonder what Stockton Rush would have to say about all of this if his partner had died down in there and not him. Probably something like no one understands my pioneering vision. I've almost developed a hatred for this guy and I don't hate anyone.

Former employees testfying. The Titan started to fail on the way down, they threw off some weight to try to go back up to the surface, didn't work, it sank like a rock, kaboom.

There are a bunch of other articles, all with paywalls. Criminally negligent homicide if you ask me, but you can't charge a dead person, so only the company can get shuttered and wrecked.

OK, I found another that may work:

I would sue the Sony corporation for a faulty controller. Those X buttons can get sticky.

I use that exact controller for gaming on my PC. So far it hasn't let me down. I'd be totally sunk without it.
