When that's your top air talent, maybe you need a blood bath.

ESPN is about 10 years(maybe longer) late in re structuring their talent

I liked Steve Young but his homerism regarding Zach was over the top.

Van Gundy and Young are IMO the only meaningful losses (and therefore mistakes). Johnson is strange, since they're on the hook for more than $14 million on his contract (although they might be able to get some back if he takes a job elsewhere). Kellerman was unlistenable, so good riddance. The rest? Meh, I guess, which means that most were probably overpaid.

Presumably JWN sent Suzy a heartfelt sympathy text.

Kellerman is awful. His radio show(he wasn't on long) on ESPN was unlistenable.

Somebody tell me how McAfee is worth 18 million a year while people who actually can do the job at a much lower rate are let go. While you're at it, tell us how Stephen Smith is wort 12? At least Smith brings his own brand of turmoil; McAfee comes to the table empty handed.

Social media eyeballs and online gambling.

    He's a bargain.

McAfee is great. Shows how out of touch you are if you think he comes to the table empty handed.

JVG is entertaining but he got quite annoying. He turned into the weasel he always seemed like on broadcasts as the years went on and he grew into more of a character. Agree on Steve Young. I always thought he had good football takes.

I also always liked Keyshawn. He was authentic and didn’t seem like he was playing a character. He was just being himself.

Max Kellerman is the epitome of a guy being a fake ass bitch. He was a really good boxing analyst in his prime and said as much ridiculous shit as he could to get air time and clicks.

I have Draft Kings and Caesar's accounts; the day I let McAfee influence them is the day I quit while I'm ahead.

Your thinking he's great reinforces my opinion he's not. But you certainly are entitled to that opinion. You should send him a shirt to wear.

I was being slightly sarcastic when I said "he's a bargain".
I have no idea if ESPN will get a return on their investment in MacAfee.

After working in sports television for the last 25+ years... the moves made by management have stopped surprising me.

It doesn’t matter whether you like or dislike McAfee. It’s a pretty out of touch statement to say he doesn’t bring anything to the table when he has millions of subscribers and viewers to his YouTube show and across other social media platforms.

    Ralebird,

He has a huge following. He is the rising star for a lot of new generation people. On this one you are wrong. ESPN getting him is huge

    Mormons gonna Mormon.

I wonder what Keymouth has to say about getting axed. Ever since he chased down Justin Bieber and almost beat the shit out of him for speeding in his neighborhood I can't hate on him.

Of course it doesn't matter if I like McAfee or not; the same goes for you. Let me amend my statemen to say he brings nothing of value to the table. Did you send him a shirt yet?

Hey, you might like him as much as some other guys here do, but I see him as a blowhard, nothing more. That may be part of his appeal to that new generation. Where's the insight? Where's the information no one else has?

In fact, he brings to mind today's generation of politicians - of all stripes, not a statesman in the bunch. We're doomed.
