But, they'll lose in style with a shiny new stadium that probably doesn't resemble a Air Conditioner.
Public funding, taxes, and PSLs to pay for it. The PSLs are going from $500 - $16,500. No idea if the PSLs are required. Fck 'em, anyway. Their selling point is, "The only New York team that plays in New York!" I feel like Job minus the festering sores.
Watch it turn out to be better than MetLife which it probably will be. That might piss off Johnson to try and get his own stadium again back in NY. He tried once to get one in Manhattan if I remember correctly. I do think it's in the lease where the Jets and Giants can opt out every 5 years if they want.
Anything is better than The New Dump. I remember when that giant hospital waiting room was just unleashed on a very suspecting public and Woody The Rube goes, "It has that industrial feel! Like the 59th Street Bridge!" Great. We have a good place to jump off after a bad loss I guess. I hate when Jets fans say, "He's out of touch with the fan base." How about he's just a jackass. I'm an atheist and I was praying to whatever that the Super Bowl in The Roofless Shithole was going to be a PR disaster and a flat out embarrassment (snow). Close, but no cigar. Damn it.
They were/are a disaster in this market. Both the Jets and Giants used to have a season ticket waiting list. No longer. Now I hear them advertising on TV/radio to buy season tickets or individual tickets for both teams.
Yep, PSLs are a disaster here in the city with the deepest pockets in the world. It sure as hell aint gonna work in Buffalo
Interesting that this renovation plan would cost $1.4 billion, the same figure that is on the tag for Buffalo's totally new stadium. Jacksonville says a total replacement there would cost an even two billion. Somebody somewhere is not coming clean. Since when is construction cheaper in New York than in Florida?
The New Dump cost $1.6 billion. For that kind of money 13 yrs ago it shouldn't look like, er, it shouldn't like, um . . . It's a roofless shithole.
I don't think I have a single association for the city of Jacksonville that doesn't have to do with that football team.
If it was built today it would be 2.23 billion and still not have a roof - but Leon Hess would be smiling in his grave due to the veritable plethora (Hi, Howard!) of bathrooms.
ha. very well may be true, but I'm pretty sure that whole project plans consists of ALOT more than just a football stadium based on the stories on local TV news...
News 4 Buffalo on Twitter: "Three months since construction began on their new stadium, the Buffalo Bills are already facing a potential cash crunch with the latest projections reportedly having the team on the hook for as much as $300 million in cost overruns. https://t.co/QxJozAlKiK" / X
cost overruns? who coulda seen that coming The Pegulas better not find a way to get taxpayers to pay for those
