Not if Cook was given permission to talk to other teams about a contract should he be traded, but it doesn't matter because it's absolutely false.
We have Hall, we drafted Izzy, Michael Carter is still hanging out... there's no way we are spending $11 mil on another running back.
The one thing about Hall is it might take him some time to regain his form. Look at Barkley. It took him a couple of seasons before he looked like the RB from his Penn State days. I am not saying it's going to take Hall a couple of seasons, but he might struggle this year to get back to where he was.
Barkley suffered a high ankle sprain the year he came back that definitely impacted his performance. I would take Hunt at half the price over Cook.
You just wanted to be the first moron to post this garbage. Suspend me this site blows. Used to be the best place e but just like Met Life all the old timers left and now it’s dead. How dare you post this garbage but hey you were the first. Congrats. Lame
While Cook is a very good/great RB, I hope this isn't happening, and don't think it is. It doesn't make sense on many fronts. Cook isn't going to sign to be a backup or rotational RB. By every accout, Hall is looking great and on pace to be ready day one of the season, and that's with the Jets playing it safe, limiting him. With the way he played last season before getting injured, why would they make him a backup to Cook? Knight was looking good last season until AVT went down. With Abanikanda's speed, the Jets have to find a way to get him on the field. Carter will be looking to bounce back from last season. Further, and perhaps most importantly, they haven't finalized either Rodgers' or Q's contracts. It would be an insult to them for the Jets to be talking contract with Cook and already having come to an agreement. Minnesota isn't going to give Cook away, either and the Jets already have given up precious draft capital next year in the trade for Rodgers, so what would they trade to Minny for Cook?
My translation on all of this is that Dalvin Cook wants to go home to Miami but his agents want to create the impression that the Jets are in the market to drive up his bargaining power if he gets released by the Vikings. I could be wrong but... Nah, it's SOP at this point. Involve the Jets somehow and either you'll get the Jets at a stupendous offer or some other team will believe you and make a stupendous offer.
