They spent a lot going online in the early 00's. That's why they're still going strong today. Well, and the nudie mag they print once a year.
Well, possibly, but if the defensive play call was for him to hand shake the WR to the safety and cover elsewhere, which I seem to recall the safety doing just that, going over to cover the receiver, then he is probably not wrong.
This is based on nothing at all, I wasn't going to say anything but I have read the same thing from multiple posters on here. Maybe he realizes that NY is the ideal market for everything he wants to do outside of football, and if the team is trending up at that time, that he wants to stay in the same market. I don't expect he will give the team a big break in negotiations but hopefully both sides come to an agreement that is good for Gardner but does not put the team in a bad spot with the cap. Just don't know how some people come to the conclusion that because he is looking like a great CB that he will be a dickhead in negotiations like the last great CB the Jets drafted. He looks very smart in how he is building his brand and that should hopefully carry over when his contract talks come up, meaning he sees the big benefit of being in one of the largest media markets.
It's going to depend on how well the team is doing when the issues comes up. Nobody likes playing for a last place team unless it's the area they grew up in.
We shall see.I don’t think he will be a dick head in the negotiations, but he will clearly demand to be paid more than any other CB in the league. Why? because he knows he is, and he is right to be paid like the best when the time comes, and he is very business savvy, and no I don’t see any discount because the NY market is ideal as you say.
This is the most likely scenario.... the only way he's not a shark when it comes to that point is if the JETS are a top tier winning team, and he knows its probably more beneficial long term to stick around. If the team goes back to sucksville, they'll have to back up the Brinks truck or he's gone.
Agree completely. Conversely, if we go back down to the bottom dweller category, NY won’t even be an option.
agreed. he dude's got swag and clearly wants to win.... how many rookie football players actively try to recruit future 1st ballot Hall of Famers a few games into the start of their rookie season?
Sauce is on an all-timer's trajectory. He can be the nicest guy in the world and he'll still command insanely more money than the next guy.
That thought had occurred to me. It's become the popular thing, although the guys that move around like that now are mostly discipline issues.
If Sauce is the best corner in the league, he will command top dollar. No team will get a discount and they shouldn’t.
