Draft Grade is solid B JD saving his job with AR addition and finally making good on his promise to upgrade the Offensive line The first round selection of the guy who jumps over cars in a parking lot was ridiculous OTOH getting Tippman and Israel the Brooklynite was pretty good I cant complain on the other selections ..lets see how Carter can stay on the field and how they develop Kuntz We shall see!!
When some team rolls out a car to play left tackle JD is going to look like a genius for taking this guy.
Also have to add Rodgers to the evaluation as he was part of this draft from his impact on picks…and by the same token consider the loss of Moore. The areas he hit are the right ones I think, other than we didn’t get a DT that I think we still need.
We added two more Jason Brownlee WR Southern Miss 6'3" Travis Dye RB Oregon Link: https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl...s-udfa-signings-2023/udqeeiycbnxcishxzohszpgo
As Posted earlier, I gave this draft , including the addition of Rogers a B..of course that grade was skewed up up by A++ acquisition of HOF QB But truth be told and on second thought I agree with Connor Hughes that none of these guys can start or will start day one. Even Tippman will be rotating behind McGovern Are we in "win Now" mode ? Yes for sure ..so why no premier picks vs projects we got?? I guess we didn't have the picks or assets to get us day 1 starters Now that I rethink it CH is right..take away Rogers its a grade C draft smh
I agree. I read Connor's post last night and have been thinking the same thing. JD needed to be aggressive and trade up in round one as insurance in order to land the potential big time OL starter. If he did, most of us would boo it at the time not knowing that we were about to be screwed by the NE/Pitt trade. The assumption might have been to do what he did - stay put. That's the thing about draft grading. Are we grading the quality of those picked at the time they are picked? Or are we grading the GM's ability to move and react? It's hard to grade this draft. Obviously the swap of picks with GB hurt us. Is that a reason to lower the grade? Maybe I don't give a F about the grade anyway...
Hmmm...wanna real GM ? take a look at whats happening just down the road in Philadelphia >>>H Roseman is a genius
I mean at the time we only had 5 picks including no 3rd so that trade up would have been exorbitant. We had no choice but to play the cards we were dealt
