I get that but we were in rough shape when JD took over over a decade of bad GMs and bad to decent coaches. plus he had a shit coach to start. he had to overhaul the whole roster and staff. it takes time to do that. he did that. this is a year where it pays off. We should at minimum make the playoffs and have a real shot at a SB
How the fuck do fans go "we are a QB away from competing" we land a top 3 QB in the NFL who is a HOFer guaranteed, has a ring, and 4 MVPs and somehow were still pissed at our team? what in the actual fuck is going on here lol
He wasn't my choice for C, then again I was sitting there hoping for Brian Branch. Tippmann is one tall center. I like him though.
Some guys should just pee themselves and lock themselves in closet for the entire draft weekend. They’d be happier.
Damn one pick in and it's already one of the worst drafts ever. I'm borderline impressed with JDs efficiency here
Glad we got OL help…I was thinking JD may have been trading down but we needed help on OL in the worst way. We needed a tackle more but this is good too…they’re saying he can play guard, or he can be center and kick McGovern out to Guard and then AVT can play RT Not saying that’s what we should do, but it gives us flexibility Just sucks that we don’t have any more picks today
I love this pick.. I was confident In the top 3 centers. I have the most experience watching Wypler, who will be a great center In the NFL as well. Tippman looks like an athletic freak at C, especially for his size. He also looks to have some versatility too with his size, no doubt he could play T as well. Which I'm sure he will be hands on with at the next level incase of emergency issues like we have seen the last couple years along the OL. I'm stoked. Thankful. This helps my mood a lot with this draft. Good job, JD.
It's mind blowing. The Jets have their first competitive team in a decade plus, and their first real choice at a SB since the 2000s, but we are pissed that we gave too much for the chance and all we do is complain about our record and the mistakes. This board had taught me I'm not as miserable as I thought I was, so I thank you. Happiness is not fleeting, it's flat out not welcome
I think he was the best C in the draft. 6'6", 313 lbs, and 10-3/4" hands. Best part is he can play OG or C.
My favorite “best available” is Darnell Washington. I just love seeing a behemoth running routes downfield. But we could do worse than an OL from Wisconsin. There’s a sold record there.
I don't know if I have ever seen someone look so dejected after they get their draft phone call than Keion White. Wow.
Im happy as hell and I’m an old curmudgeon. Hell, I’m convinced McDonald will be an All Pro and all the morons here will come back saying how they knew it all along
Much better pick than yesterday! Tippman can play center and guard, so that gives us some much-needed versatility inside and lets us play AVT at tackle if need be. Hopefully of course he starts at center right away, kicks McGovern out to guard, and becomes our next Mangold. A guy can dream...
Funny. Not five minutes ago I muttered to myself, “Muthafucking Patriots are going to take Darnell!” Heh.
Tippmann Isn't a flawless prospect though. He does need to clean up his game a bit, It's coachable though. He really lets players Into his chest too much, which allows the defensive player to control him. He has some turnstile moments from his tape. When he has good technique, when he doesn't allow the defensive linemen to get inside his chest, and maintains that initial punch. He Is dominate. He does need coached up a bit though. IMO He is extremely ideal for our scheme though, he probably fits our scheme the best out of the top 3 centers that were available.
