Man this is scary JD has to have a plan B free agent pick up to fix OL Just being the eternal optimist
I mean.. Why wouldn't you take Nolan Smith Instead? I just don't get It. We have Carl Lawson, we just drafted Jermaine Johnson.. WTF are we doing? Unbelievable.
Love the pick! Jets couldn’t buy a turnover last year. Defense wins games. This kids a beast on the edge.
Even trade it for a player in the league. This is underwhelming. Starting to feel like JD might have just gotten lucky last year
that pick definitely has a lame "the guy we wanted got swiped" vibe. Bellichik is going to torment us until he dies.
I wouldn’t have taken Nolan Smith instead. He’s a 230 pound clone of Bryce Huff ceiling. You have to take O’Cyrus (perennial Pro Bowl guard) or JSN and reunite the OSU bros to build tons of athleticism around Rodgers. I can’t believe the huge celebration around the Jets room. McDonald will be a good football player. He will tackle. He will defend the run. His floor is high, his ceiling is low and he’s a good kid. He is not a first round pick under any circumstance.
Carl Lawson, JFM, Jermaine Johnson, Micheal Clemons, Bryce Huff, Will McDonald. That is a CROWDED room. He better be a star and not another Carl Lawson.
Get on board the JD is stupid train otoh Aron Rogers did his homework and told the world the Jets are his best fit besides running backs and WRs did he ask JD how he will have time throw a pass ..maybe??
I don't know this kid...I'm watching ESPN coverage and Mel Kiper loves him and called the pick, for what it's worth. They did show the draft room when Pitt took Jones and everyone was dead quiet. We got fucked for sure. I think they were trying to trade down just nothing there probably. All that being said, pass rushers are good...we like to go in waves, and our rotation with Lawson (who may be better two years out from his Achilles), Johnson, Clemmons, and Huff is now stronger with this kid. but what a bummer to lose out on OT that was our biggest need by far but yeah, that pick swap killed us ... Jones was there at 13
Solid second round player. Basically if we stayed put at 13, we have Broderick Jones, blue chip talent. At 15 we take a 2nd round talent. Basically that swap turned out giving away another 1st round pick in the Rodgers trade, while having all the leverage.
I was hoping this pick would save me from the anger I've been feeling about this trade... It somehow got so much fucking worse. I'm so fucking confused.
Im ok with it Kind of like guys who produce at lesser programs. Opponents can key on this guy and he still produced Not so for the guys from Alabama et al.
