This is an interesting draft. There are multiple top 10 talents that could very well fall to 15.

If one of the big 3 OTs drop or magically JSN does, I believe that the Jets will take them without hesitation. If not, I really like the idea of moving down and then drafting Wright or Kancey, depending on how far. Try to recoup a late 2nd, because IMO, 40-55 is the sweet spot of the draft based on Jets needs.

After AVT went down, except for 1 game against the Bills, the tackles played like shit. All of them, including Brown and Mitchell. And it is not just my opinion. PFF also rates them 69th and 71st out of 81 respectively. And this is when they played. Which wasn't very often. I just cannot count on these guys to protect our new old man. Brown is old too, I have no idea if he sucked only because he was hurt or also because he is old. So yeah, there are durability concerns, and there are also performance concerns. Not a great place to be.

I remember during one of the interviews someone asked Saleh to give a pitch for a good QB to come here. He mentioned defense, GW, and said we revamping OLine. We can't just grab a 3d day guy and consider the line revamped. We failed to get a good LT in Free Agency, and we are now in position where we absolutely need to get a top tackle prospect in the draft. I am not saying we should reach at 15 if top 3 are gone, but it sure will suck a lot if this is the case. Knock on wood it won't happen.

To each their own. I’m sorry your viewing experience might be miserable.

It will be exciting to be sure, but I am afraid if ends up miserable, it will be very bad for all of us. Last thing I want is to see Rodgers fold like Mike White did last year. Then we will all be fucked. Tonight steps must be taken to avoid this fate.

last year opener we started mitchell, avt, mcgovern, fant and tomlinson. I assume JD thought becton would start over mitchell and fant would be ok. why shouldn't he assume becton , avt and, brown start healthy, to go along with mcgovern and tomlinson. They are all on the team, correct. So if they are healthy, where does a draftee play..plus they still have mitchell. Now he might not be thinking this way. He might agree with you we need an OL in the worst way. If so, perhaps he trades up to get one, rather than down as people suggest. All options are certainly possible. I just think they see their needs differently.

I guess I just don’t really understand how a rookie tackle is going to make or break this season. Do I want one? Yes. Should we take one? Yes. But how can you tell me we’re doomed if we don’t?

Brown and Mitchell will be the back-ups, which is what they were supposed to be last year before Becton got hurt (recall Brown and the Jets agreed to structure of the contract before Becton's injury). Worry not though, there is overwhelming likelihood Brown will need to play with Becton in front of him.

Because I watched last season's horrendous Tackle play and we didn't get one in free agency this year, even though we tried. Our QB now is not expandable either, like Mike White was. Though one could argue if we could keep Mike upright, the season would have ended much differently.

I wouldn't use word doomed, since JD still has some time to come up with something to drastically improve the position, but the easiest way to do it is get a blue chip tackle tonight. If this does not happen, it would suck a lot. A LOT. That's all I am saying.

Interesting set of tweets from DJ Reed, which of course could mean absolutely nothing.

The pick probably depends on how the Jets feel about the Becton/Brown/Mitchell combo. If the front office has convinced themselves that they're good to go, then edge or a weapon for Rogers will be the pick. This FO has been very good in the past at convincing themselves that we're good at tackle.

They should trade up and grab JSN and draft a tackle in the 2nd round. And also sign a couple veterans.

The pick will tell a lot
Are you suggesting losing the top 2 OL on our team do to injuries affected the whole line?!?

That’s logic I can get behind. Good job.

Next you’re going to mention how Rodgers incredibly quick release time is something OL love.

Assuming the Jets keep the first end second rounder, my dream scenario is Skoronski and JMS.
