Still have a good shot at OT at 15 Think most good OT's will be in the 10-20 category. Rodgers wasn't happy in GB w/the Jets young offensive talent and a OC he gets along with will be a big plus.
honestly we would have our 2 2nd round picks this draft. And have a QB for least 4 years. We may be back to square one next year or year 2. Just saying…
The Jets went from 7-10 with the absolute worst QB play in the league to getting bAaron Rodgers and possible super bowl run. And people are really angry. Yes. It was a slight overpay. We all wish the 2024 conditional pick was different. It's not. They are not depleted for years to come however.
What? It would have cost at minimum two first round picks. It would have cost a ton more guaranteed money for more years. In no way shape or form would that have been cheaper than giving up a second, a sixth and maybe a future first for Rodgers.
Of course the Pats will miss out on a WR/TE they wanted and will draft the next great OT. But let's see how it all shakes out. Now I really want Ben Jones the C
The Jets gave up all of this draft pick compensation to have Rodgers in the building between May and August. Because by September they could have had Rodgers for free.
I'm happy we have a potentially elite Quarterback for the first time in my lifetime; but JD blinked. He overpaid pretty significantly. The condition on our 2024 first is laughable.
And a 40 year QB with short timeline. If I recall the Jets are still young and could develop a winning team for a while. Lamar gives as just a good chance if not better than AR winning. Now not saying I am not happy with AR with the Jets and they should be better. But for how long with he be with the Jets?
Can anyone provide an example of a team firmly entering “win now“ mode without having to give up multiple first round picks or at least giving up multiple picks in the same years draft?
Then we gambled and lost But if you dont risk in life you dont get rewarded Whos QBing the Jets without AR?? Gardner Minshew Boyer ? really?
Well, we fucked that up weeks ago didn't we.. Woody got his headliner. "You can never have enough Rodgers.." All aboard the Aaron Rodgers hype train...
Oh my good Lord, how in Gods name is a chance to the playoffs and beyond, after a zillion years of nothing, preserving our picks this year, for a first next freaking year a bad deal? Do people really have a clue what this could do for this organization if AR plays to as a minimum the level of last year, which in my view is a low outlier he will not see for the next two years. Can we please stop the “we could have gotten him for nothing later on BS”. Time to start winning some games. We should hope and pray to gladly give GB the last pick of 2024.
We also could have grabbed Carr and garrapollo getting them would have been as big a headline too since the Jets have done nothing in 12 years But actually The team was acquiring players like Lazard to make this work imo
