BTW I didn't really want to add this to the conversation but it has to be said: the last great GB QB to come here did wind up texting dick pics to a member of the marketing dept and that blew up in our faces. I doubt Aaron Rodgers is going to do something really stupid like that but GB really does have some weird-ass HoF QB's in the rear view mirror now.
I think he was BSing. Like I said, he's a weird dude. I've spent 15+ years of local news seeing press conferences, and quotes. I honestly believe when it's eventually a done deal that he'll give us 2 seasons and retire. Just speculation on my behalf, but I know he's had a lot of issues with the GB FO. They thought he was good enough to carry the offense, so they never gave him help, and just focused on defense. (A defense that was only good for 1 or 2 years of his career anyway...) The real question is whether he is 90% retired in November when things start to blow up again on the injury front.
Yes thats a good point. He bought a fancy house in Nashville recently... Jets struggle out of the gate, maybe they are 3-6 as the weather changes, maybe he gets dinged up, lots of booing at Metlife, he finds some country star honey and football wont seem so important
He takes a sabbatical and starts dating Tay Tay mid season , back up starts leading the team to victories and sneaks us in the playoffs . Calling it
I'm pretty sure the Nashville rumors were just that, last season when he was trying to extort the Packers for the contract the Packers are trying to foist off on the Jets now.
Also - in regards to "leverage" ... if the Jets don't make a deal now, Douglas/Saleh are roasted and possibly even fired by Woody. If the Packers don't? What are their shareholders gonna do? be upset that they didn't trade away their franchise legend to the NY Jets? Think about that then tell me who has some leverage here
To quote the bad man himself... R-e-l-a-x It will get done. Nobody is getting fired. Sent from my SM-F926U using Tapatalk
I think it will get done too, I just worry how much the Jets are gonna send them, which was kinda my point there. It's not gonna be cheap
Obviously both sides are being stingy with the whole ordeal. I'm a little frazzled how they can't find a happy medium. A 2 this year, and 2024 2 and conditional 3rd that can go to a 2. That sounds fair to me. Sent from my SM-F926U using Tapatalk
The Packers GM has been a train wreck for a few years... They also are in a terrible position in this trade scenario with the Jets. The guy is doing everything he can do save a little face and maybe get a first rounder or more.. curious to see if he gets it, but honestly I think JD is going to spank this guy when it's over
As it looks now we might need the 2 seconds and the first rd 13th to get the pick at 4 so we have a qb
