Id assume this is true. Neither side has any reason to make the deal before the draft. Jets don’t have a reason to make it during the draft, in fact it benefits them if it happens after. Packers need this to happen before the draft unless their gameplan is awful.
I disagree. The Jets have a reason to make it happen, sooner than later. It would be nice to know what their starting QB is up to and where his head is at I also think it is wasting the opportunity to use Rodgers to entice other talented players to come here. That was one of the reasons we were told a trade for him would be a good move and they pretty much wasted that opportunity
Who is left? Did you want Odell for $18 mil? He was going to get that offer from the Ravens and we were never going to match it. Outside of Cox and Campbell I can’t think of anyone we “missed out” on. And the Packers have to make this deal. The Jets know he will be here, they can move forward with their gameplan. The Packers are hoping to either save money by waiting til June 1 (which means no 2023 draft capital, which is dumb) or they are going to end up paying for a $60 mil distraction as they are trying to rebuild.
the whole point of getting rodgers was so players of Beckham's ilk would take less money to play here with him. Like Brady in Tampa We never got that opportunity to find out. Of course he took the money from the Ravens. That deal was ready on the table in paper and the Jets were only giving him verbal promises that Rodgers would be the QB here. I wouldnt wait on that either
This isn’t good for both teams. They both failed miserably, put this way. This isn’t good for AR either as he hasn’t worked with the Jets coaching staff or players. If anyone thinks AR is going to be Sterling like the MVP AR, the fans are in for a rude awakening.
Any actual source or are you just saying that because it fits in with your opinion? Anything I’ve read says that Beckham wanted the money and to be the 1, two things Baltimore offered that we never were going to.
Rodgers was working out with Lazard and Garrett Wilson posted a picture from the same field, so putting two and two together… edit: seeing the way Rodgers uses the TEs in this offense does make me want to see Uzomah and Conklin out there. Not sure that would be happening regardless. Always have to consider that Rodgers is a dick.
Will Parkinson has come out and said the Jets offer was at best half of what the Ravens offered Odell and it was also the second highest offer on the table. Beckham wasn't walking away from a contract that was double-- Rodgers guarantee or not.
