Whoever. these guys don’t give a damn what we think of them. As long as they’re being paid the fans don’t mean shit to these people
I said I respect certain athletes less when they behave in a certain way. You sarcastically replied that they don't care about my opinion. Should I therefore not have an opinion? "Hey, what do you think about Dave Chappelle?" "It doesn't matter. He doesn't care what I think." Do you answer questions this way?
Rodgers in this loaded offense will be insane. THREE legit pass and running blocking TEs True #1 WR in GWilson + Lazard/Davis/Hardman/OBJ/Mims 1 potentially great RB + 3 good RBs to complement This is a ridiculous depth at skill position that will be matchup nightmares for DCs. And we haven’t even made it thru the draft.
Historically RBs aren’t 100% their 1st year back from an ACL so unless JD shocks the world and drafts Bijan, AR won’t have a great RB in his backfield. Shock the world, JD. Shock the world.
My concern is that all of the sudden in this scenario we can go from great to very shaky. OBJ hasn't played last year and has 2 major injuries to the same knee. Plus hasn't really played well in years aside from a small, albeit critical, stretch in play-offs. Still though, if he is not good again or gets hurt again, all of the sudden we have a very similar receiving core as last year, or worse with GW, Lazard, and Hardman. If I were JD, I would try to sign OBJ for up to 7-8 mil or less, but would not release Davis unless he is a part of Rodgers trade and saves on some major assets. You can never have too many weapons. Then if we stay healthy, depending on how things go, I would consider trading Davis or someone else during the season. Or just keep them and let's win the SB. Whoever is unhappy can leave next year.
I don’t think Davis is gone at all. Jets coach and FO love him and he’ll restructure his already relatively cheap contract for June 1st. Even Rodgers praised him.
Don’t be surprised if Zach is a goner if JD can trade him for a late rounder or conditional with Boyle signing. That frees $9M on the cap.
QB? 39 coming off a season where he played with minor injury most of the season. RB? Coming off ACL surgery. WR2? If OBJ then hasn't played in 14 months and over 30 making him a huge question mark trending towards disaster. OT1? Well we don't know who that is yet. The candidates are 39 years old, 2 games played in 2 years and probably the 1st round pick. OT2? See above. Best interior OL? Coming off of a torn triceps that required surgery. Rest of interior OL? Older or still to be determined in the draft. OL depth? Probably pretty shaky, like last year. And the year before. And the year before that. Seriously, anybody who thinks this offense is going to hit the ground running next season is likely to be sorely surprised. If I'm the Jets I market the defense and leave the offense alone because over-promising there is going to make the likely results look worse than they are and highly disappointing. But of course Jets doing Jets things...
All that being said, put Rodgers on last years Jets and we’re at least knocking on the Bills door and probably in the second round of the playoffs.
Excellent Post I am waiting for all the JD homers to reply here and lame excuses they give him. I think you and I are the only Posters prepared for the Jets team that had Favre and not the super hyped Rogers group I have been deluding myself into believing ..ha JD is setting up a scenario where Rogers has NO protection in front of him !..I mean how dumb is that??. And the hold up with the Packers is some compensation if AR doesn't play a 2nd year for us? ??Of course thats likely !....because the JD dummy is going to get the guy injured . He lied to Sam Darnalds parents about OL depth/protection and the screw job continues year after year:/ I want our RB ready and OBJ as well but thats just wishful thinking isn't it?
