When is all well and done, if he comes to the Jets, he will care about one thing and one thing only. WINNING.Winning and show the NFL world that he is still at the top of his game and still one of the best pure passers ever. He will do whatever he has to do to prove that. He has demonstrated the will, talent and strength to do that. And nothing would please him more than to show that GB really screwed thing up when the let him go, and send a message by his play that says fuck you guys. This is not about money. His ego is bruised and ego trumps everything else. That’s what we need for a freaking change. a proven winner with a chip on his shoulder. I don’t give two fucks about what he does in his spare time or what he really prefers. Just freaking win baby.
This. Exactly. People forget about Elway his last 2 years. He wasn’t the same player, He had the drive and the team .
What is Rodgers going to prove to GB? They didn't dump him because they thought he was washed up. In fact, they just went all in on him with a silly contract. They are dumping him because he's a flake and they are tired of being held hostage every offseason. They showed their loyalty by paying him top dollar, and he showed his loyalty by not being committed or even being a team player. He's the guy you get to feel privileged to break your cap for, and its never his fault. Why sign a 5 year contract if you don't want to play? GB would look like total whipping boys if they stuck with him. The guy has zero high ground. What he has a a talent that is expensive, and disruptive. And the dumpster is going to explode all over us by season end. We get to be his whipping boys.
A team going all in would trade their best WR so the QB who took them to the NFC championship game can “develop”?
If AR comes here and wins a SB, IMO many people will believe it. Probably not Packers fans but it’s a pretty strong case.
They said the same exact thing about Peyton Manning. Only won 1 with the Colts and was bad in big playoff games. He went to the Broncos and won again. Rodgers will do the same. Let’s go Jets!!!!
Lets look at his last 4 playoff losses. He lost to the Bucs by forcing the ball into double coverage at the end of the game when he had a clear path to run into the endzone. Then he blames the coach who decided to go for the tieing FG instead of fourth and goal from the 8. Even after the had just thrown 3 terrible passes and missed and easy TD run, he blames the coach. He even went on Jeopardy doing it. He lost to the niners by throwing 2 first half picks that lead to a 27-0 halftime deficit. He lost to the falcons by throwing terrible passes and a bonehead int that lead to them going up 31-0 in the 3rd quarter. He looked mostly terrible in the Arizona loss in 2015 until a hail Mary in last 3 minutes of the game. Still not enough to win it. In fact, his last 4 playoff losses the packers averaged scoring 4 first half points. Nobody is going to believe Rodgers wasn't a key factor in the losses.
Maybe if GB had gotten him weapons, he wouldn’t have forced those throws. We can agree to disagree. I have my opinions of your football logic so I’m 100% OK with us not seeing eye to eye.
Would you rather AR be a Jet Monday or June 1st? If not till June, we have 2 2nd rd picks to play with this year.
All my opinions on this situation are reality based. Your the one taking hopium and excuses as fact - like "he didn't have the weapons". The WR he was forcing the ball to against TB was Devonte Adams. And again, he had a clear path to just stroll into the endzone himself. But it was the coaches fault they lost the game by sending it into overtime - right? Kinda like how some here said he had an off year last season because he didn't have the WRs. And then we immediately go out and try to sign his WRs from last year. Only deluded fanboys will think the packers did Rodgers wrong. When things go south for him in NY its going to be a circus meltdown of epic proportions. He wont just leave coaches jobs in the wake. He'll drive players away as well. A total destruction of the JD era - all for his own ego. This ain't GB and nobody in the locker room is going to care about his excuses and lack of accountability. Come to think of it, its the one trait he has in common with Zach.
