Yeah, I couldn’t have said that any better. it’s really not a great script. But the concept is solid. And the period stuff I really like. The church? Fine. I get the connection. Could have been pretty much anything, though. A large law firm or maybe weave it back to mason’s roots and make it the largest dairy conglomerate on the west coast. It all works the same. Keep the blonde, ditch the church.

I never met a guy who admitted they were big into period stuff although I do know they exist.

I liked Dalton, he was a bit mean and cold. Lazenby was so beyond bad that I'm glad they cut it off after one movie. Who was the poster who used to have the Mrs Bond avatar? She unfortunately passed not too long ago but I preferred her as Emma Peel instead of Mrs Bond

Just finished the first season of Picard. I think it's pretty good from a Star Trek lore perspective however I'm not liking the trend where new ST shows are mostly homages to old scripts and story lines.

    I'd give Picard: Season 1 a 4 out of 5. I really hope season 2 is better.

Been watching the Last of Us, Snowfall, Mayor of Kingstown and Servant.

Mayor of Kingstown has gotten ridiculous and they don’t explain anything that goes on. Characters just pop up and they’re suddenly important.

Servant was too M Knight for me. I didn't make it to the end of season 1.

It is a few years old but the show Marco Polo on Netflix is a good one if you like men who battle and seeing naked Asian women. I like both of those things a lot so I highly recommend

Yeah Marco Polo is a great one. Be warned however that it flatlines after season 2 with no continuation. Netflix was looking to draw in a new audience with it and instead they got the same audience that Last Kingdom drew. They flipped a coin and cut one of the series and Marco Polo was the one to go.

It does have the greatest female ninja of all time though. No more commentary on that but I'll guarantee you will remember her scenes for the rest of your life.

I used to live about 3 blocks from one of the Red Light Districts in Manila which conveniently also housed the only bar I could watch the Jets at 2AM on a Monday morning. It was pretty easy to stumble in to one of the girl bars at 5AM to see lots of naked Asian women My favorite place was called Ringside which had midget and girl boxing. It was a bit of a joke but it was a fun place to hang out surrounded by gorgeous Filipino women and drink 2 dollar San Miguel Lites with some friends

I just can't picture midgets boxing girls.

Oh no... the midgets would box each other, they'd even get patrons to be refs of course it's a scam so you'll buy them drinks

The girls would box each other which was usually nothing more than 2 hot Filipino girls hugging each other for 2 minutes

Oh man do I miss those days

Philippines is great because English is spoken by nearly everyone but you don't even need to go to girlie bars to meet women. I had my kid with me when I went to Thailand so I viewed it a little different. We skipped Bangkok and went to Chiang Mai instead

So far, the final season is pretty good Br4d. A lot of familiar faces with new twists. Season 2 was so so..

I'm also enjoying the Strange New Worlds series. Gotta see Pike's hair to believe it.

Discovery I'm on the fence about. It was good early on but it seems to be trending downwards. I find myself going to sleep during episodes late at night and that hasn't happened with either of the other two series.

Patrick Stewart has said several times recently that he's open to further development on the series. Whether it is profitable enough for Paramount Global to want to continue is unclear.

We have some heavy hitters in the streaming Sci-Fi business coming up and Paramount+ may just concentrate on a few shows in the genre and only one Star Trek show.

My prediction is that Strange New Worlds is going to have to go on a war footing to maintain wide viewer interest. I think the anthology paradigm works fine for Trekkies but there aren't as many of those as there used to be.
