The have zero leverage. Let them stew. Who do you think will give more than us for potentially a one year rental? No one. And he wants to come here. So they can take it or eat it. The President made a fool of himself and now he needs to deal with it. Don’t buy into the Mike Tannenbaum BS strategy. This is not a five year deal like for the other QB he is comparing it to.
Folks....Mike Murphy is NOT the "owner" of the Green Bay Packers !! He's a former player who is president of the team. There is NO OWNER of this team -- in fact, I'm surprised that Mike Florio or someone hasn't written a piece or done a show that explains how all the shareholders determine who serves on the Board.....who then get to choose the president. This team has no key decision-maker which makes things a bit weird.
Both sides have a weak position, although the Jets can only pivot to what is left of the market while GB can supposedly only trade him to the Jets or keep him. I wonder how possible it would be for New England to swoop in for the steal at some point.
So as far as backstops there is no one left now other than who, Brodgewater? Can’t see us trotting out Teddy to start the season so this is AR or bust I would have preferred to keep White and also Ber if and Rankins for that matter… but this deal will get done at some point…all parties want this it’ll happen and I do trust JD to not give up the farm. With our holes on OL and DT we can’t afford to trade that 13 pick … if we had Mac in charge I’m sure he would’ve given it up plus next years first too but luckily he’s not here
I believe Brown and Becton are our starting tackles but yes, we definitely need a young back-up who can step into the starting role this or next season.
They were projected our starting tackles last season. How did that work out? Can't rely on these two. We need another high quality starter and a solid back-up.
It looks like we missed out on everyone good in FA market. I guess draft one with #13 and bring Fant back?
I really don't want to draft a OT at 13 but I'm definitely coming around. Can't have enough guys on the OL or DL. Love the receiver though, OSU, can't spell his name lol. I'll call him enigma...
We didn’t miss on the best LT in free agency, we intentionally didn’t go after the top big $$$ picks. We are looking for solid depth as back + the draft.
I actually think we have a decent WR room now, though of course I would not mind another superstar receiver next GW. But I think a room of GW, Moore, Davis, Lazard, and Mims is very solid. TEs are also good with CJ, Conklin and Ruckert in the second year. RBs are OK too with Breece, Carter, Bam, and Ty. I think with Rodgers all these weapons will come alive. The concern is still the OLine, and looks like good Tackles are off the board. Which means we have to spend #13 on one. Also we need a Center. And ideally another good backup to replace Feeney plus Fant replacement. I am very concerned if we cannot protect AR, the whole season is going to go down the drain again.
We tried to go after Orlando Brown and he chose the Bengals. There’s a theme here that I don’t love. Brown, Cox, Brendel…
No, we went after Brown and missed out: https://www.si.com/nfl/bengals/allb...-jets-steelers-land-orlando-brown-free-agency
I don't like it but I agree. RB I think we need help, preferably Ekeler if we can get him for a later pick. Breece will need time and we stink beyond him. The only other one I want to compliment Breece (this goes against all I believe morally) if we can't get Ekeler is Hunt.
