People think it’s funny, but it’s a glimpse into his shitty personality and gives context to all the people who’ve said he’s a pompous, blamefull asshole. This guys fiancé walked away from him, at 40 no one has wanted to marry him or have kids, or have a relationship for any length of time. His own family doesn’t talk to him or have a relationship with him. Despite being a hall of famer at the most important position in sports, his team doesn’t want him around. To me, this Schefter thing is a microcosm of his whole aura and I don’t know why people think it’s funny. If Schefter reaches out for comment (which is his job) he could have easily said in a professional manner that he doesnt wish to comment. Instead, without ever talking to the guy or knowing him, tells him to “lose his number” like a jackass. It says a lot that at 40 years old, he still hasn’t realized that the reason he has no one close to him in life is because of how he acts and treats people.
