@Brook! @sozopol @Attackett @donkey @statjeff22 @FinnishJET @southsidejet My wife and I are heading to Lisbon next month and you all listed that you've been to Portugal. What are some of the "must-sees and do's" of Lisbon and some of the surrounding areas? or even some don't bother with it. Thx.
Hey bud. We did the $150 per person Private Day Tour and loved it. We wouldn't hit all these spots on our own. Definitely look into it. We loved the historic city. Food isn't that crazy good. But hang out in the Bairro Alto region in Lisbon. My wife and I loved it. Kids were meh.
I just applied for global entry but most my travels have been Countries in the Caribbean islands. With Puerto Rico not being a country I’ll start it off in no order Dominican Republic, Jamaica, curacao(might have been my favorite), Bahamas, Grenada, Antigua, Aruba plus Mexico, Costa Rica and panama. I want to travel to Countries in Europe, Middle East, Asia. Dream vacation is a safari in Africa and visiting Australia but I honestly don’t think I can handle the flight.
Same here! My brother married a Portuguese woman (in NYC) and they ended up moving to Porto, where her family is, to raise their two kids. We visited them, spent time in Porto, Guimaraes, traveled into the country up the Doura River valley and stayed in a quinta, then her family's country house in buttfuck northeastern Portugal (I think that was the name). Porto is super cool if you can get there. Only time in Lisbon was in the airport, really. But a real visit is on the list for next time!
Are you suggesting a fist sized spider or the more mundane snake? There are plenty of each. I had an encounter with an eastern brown snake a few years ago up near the southern end of the Great Barrier Reef; many lists call it the third most dangerous snake in the world; thankfully it didn't want to mess with me any more than I wanted to mess with it.
I do know Porto much better, including where to get an amazing octopus meal. We hired a driver in a soft top VW who took us out of Lisbon to a great castle. We mostly just took our chances. But I'll ask Mrs Donkey to see what she can remember.
I had great octopus at Travesso in Porto a few years back, but I see that according to TripAdvisor it has closed. Too bad.
Wikipedia says their venom is made primarily during mating season so check the calendar before you go if you want to get lucky.
Besides USA... Canada Mexico Bahamas Jamaica Poland United Arab Emirates Afghanistan New Zealand Warsaw was beautiful. Auckland was a ton of fun. Sent from my SM-S906U using Tapatalk

I actually bumped in to him a few years ago, he was working as the analyst for Hawaii football and they came to Vegas. I didn't want to tell him I used to post under the name Rich Miano on a NY Jets message board
