Carr has always been bound for NO. He didn't ask for permission to speak to the Jets to facilitate a trade. He asked for permission to speak to the Saints. All the FA hysteria since then has been about insulating the Saints, Carr and his reps from tampering charges.
The Titans said last week that Tannehill will be starting for them next season. I still wouldn't rule out the Jets making a play for Lamar Jackson seeing how the Ravens are nowhere close to re-signing him.
Again I am not advocating for him to come to NY. Now Carr made the most sense imo and can still build and improve the team. Now they have to go to option B.Dint think AR and Lamar is the answer. As much as I like Daniel Jones a good fit, he’s not the answer either if he s gonna costs some heavy picks imo.
The Packers don't want Rodgers. They don't want his leviathan contract. They want to start Jordan Love and start rebuilding for the future.
At this point, I'd invest heavily in the O-line (should do it anyway) and stick with Mike White. Elite O-line + healthy Breece Hall should be enough to make us a contender without signing an overpriced QB and diving into a potential cap hell.
I think I'd sign a vet of some sort and put White, the vet and Wilson into a genuine QB competition and let the guy performing the best win. At the moment I think the Jets best look moving forward is some guy they draft in 2024 as the QB with White as the long-term backup but it's really hard to see how they get there from where they are. This scenario puts any real chance of a Super Bowl off until 2025 or 2026, since a rookie isn't winning anything in 2024 and probably should not set foot on the field that year.
He doesn't have a no trade clause. The only dick swinging Rodgers has is that he can say he can retire if you trade me to X spot that he doesn't want to go to.
I think its time for JD to act... put some pressure on #12 and ask him for his choice. Make a ****ing decision and stop with the process BS... irrespective of the coaches meeting, etc., the franchise is stagnant and not moving forward right now.
after the all the offseason buzz this would be a let down but i would be ok w/ MW versus trying to plug in jacoby, tannehill, baker, etc
If we fail so badly that our plan is Mike White this season, we need to make sure we have a backup for when he's injured by week 5. I promise you, if Mike White is starting week 1 then we will have a new GM by week 1 2024.
Zach Wilson, come on down! We’re just gonna repeat last season. 13 years and counting without the playoffs. Might as well just punt 2023 and start focusing on 2024
Woody Johnson.. I have no doubt, things are not going to end well because of this ass hole of an owner. Here. We. Go.
So the plan now is to act even more desperately? Rodgers is a short term circus and Jackson is laughably expensive, and both will also cost picks. White isn't the answer to anything but being a backup. The best move for us right now is to try and snag one of the promising younger recruits from another team. Their cheap, and still have potential to become a long term solution. Do that and keep building with a healthy cap. QBs I'd try to grab in the pre draft fray: Desmond RIdder - offer ATL next years 2nd if they plan on picking a QB top 10. Davis Mills - Offer the Texans our 3rd. If by some wild chance Chicago's new GM wants to grab a top 5 QB, offer them pick 13 for Fields.
So your plan for a GM and HC that are both on the hotseat is go grab Davis Mills, Desmond Ridder, or Justin Fields? HUH
