I keep reading this, but the fact is he's NOT a free agent, it's not like he can just sign with the team he chooses..... He's under contract with GB, and they call the shots, outside of Rodgers deciding to retire (which isnt going to happen)

If we don't trade for Rodgers then Joe Douglas needs to be fired. No other way to move forward. It's a botch of epic proportions even by Jets standards.

It's amazing how the Saints, still over the cap like 20m after numerous restructures, can swing a 30m+ contract. Cap space can be such an illusion. Jets better act fast if they want him. Or else the backup plan to Aaron Rodgers is Jimmy G or Jacoby Brisset... Was looking forward to the stability Carr would offer at the position for years even if he's not a top 5 QB
It's one of those or Derek got tired of waiting around for us. Wouldn't be surprised if he felt disrespected by us making it obvious he was our Option B and went with the Saints.
Its feeling like Jimmy G. I never felt great about Rodgers coming here, and that hasn't changed. Jets have more than likely lost some negotiating power in a Rodgers trade as well. Jimmy G is a massive upgrade as well, but it would feel so lukewarm after failing to get Carr and Rodgers.
