Well, if he plays this season, you will have a pattern for next offseason

    It's actually pretty similar.

Ryan isn't on the exact same level as Rodgers but he is a HOFer and was three years younger at the time and playing at an extremely high level at the time.

HOF'er? Ehhh debatable. I'd put him in the same class as Eli Manning. And Eli gets into the HOF before Ryan because he was way more clutch in the biggest moments of his career ie 2 Super Bowl MVP's. Ryan? Not so much. That loss looms large over his legacy. whether people like to admit it or not.

He's a debatable HOF'er I would say, not close to the same level as Rodgers, like 2 rungs downs from A-Rodg.

If the Jets give up a 1st for Rodgers, they are idiots. Second time I've said this on here today lol.

Ryan isn't going to make the HoF.

Eli is in because he's famous. #1 overall pick. Archie and Peyton's relative. Beat Tom Brady twice and has 2 rings.

Next to that Ryan just looks like an accumulator in an era when a lot of QB's accumulated numbers because the NFL favored the passing game in a big way.

No, it's really not all that matters. I literally just stated numerous reasons why that isn't all that matters.

.. and, yes, JD would be absolutely foolish to give up a first for him. I don't see It happening, as JD Is typically very good at trading by maximizing value. I can't think of a trade where he over spent In a trade, or got fleeced In a trade.

So, I'm not overly concerned but the possibility Is there. Unfortunately.

Why are you stressed? Why are you going through anything? Let it play out. You control nothing. If it happens, you have an established pattern

I’ll be thrilled if I’m wrong but I can’t fathom the Packers not getting at least one first in return for Rodgers. They hold all the cards. Unless we have a handshake agreement with Carr then GB can fuck us around all they want.

They don’t hold the cards at all. They don’t want Rodgers because it’s shit or get off the pot time with Jordan Love. They want Rodgers off the books because they’re so severely deficient in talent and need to vastly improve their roster. The only way Rodgers is going to cost us a 1st is in 2024 if he wins us a SB as part of some contingency deal, in which case give them the 1st rounder.

It’s all speculation at this point so we can’t say whether or not GB is itching to dump Rodgers asap for anything. For our sake I hope they are but they can play hardball very easily. We are the ones in a time crunch unless Carr is willing to wait it out which I highly doubt he is.

Woody is the wild card. The unknown in this equation. I am convinced this delay with Carr is because Woody has his mind set on the Legend. He can sell more higher priced tickets with Rodgers.

I'm thinking this week we should see some movement (please) because everyone's back from the combine and it's the last full week before FA begins.

I'm hopeful but let's see how it plays out. (I have no idea why I'm hopeful being that the Jets have almost always let us fans down in these type of anticipatory situations).

That’s exactly what it is but I don’t think it’s Woody. I think it’s the front office and coaching staff too. I despite Rodgers the human but Rodgers the QB gives us our best shot at a title or at least competing for one. If you’re a staff coaching for your jobs, you want Rodgers over Carr. As a fan, I want the opposite.

I could understand anyone wanting Carr over Rodgers if the price for Rodgers was the original rumor.

Without giving up a 1st Rd pick for Rodgers makes him the no brainer decision over Carr. We’ll see what the final cost is but bring on Arod!

There are pros and cons for both of them, but the higher skilled QB is Rodgers. Also, there seems to be a bias against Rodgers because he is perceived as an "anti-vaxxer" and a primadonna.

If they are trading him, ( may not be a choice) they have to have serious suitors to get a 1 or more. Right now, thats in question. Lets see

From everything I've read and watched I believe Carr wants to sign with the Jets but, he understands they are in a holding pattern waiting on word from Rodgers. If Carr wanted to sign with the Saints the deal would be done.

Carr is appealing because you know you have a quality quarterback locked in for 3 or 4 years.

Douglas wants to make good on his botched number 2 pick and send the Jets to the Dance. Both he and Saleh are on the hot seat. A-Rod is their Golden Ticket.

The Jets have a helluva lot better opportunity to sneak past Burrow and Mahomes with Rodgers at the helm. Carr has made one playoff appearance compared to Rodgers who practically lives there with 22 post-season appearances and a 12-10 record.

Yes Carr has suffered through a carousel of coordinators and coaches but, at the end of the day Rodgers has feasted in the post-season pretty sure he's still hungry, heck the Jets are famished.

There's no way Rodgers is turning down $100 million. He wants to cement his legacy. He can do that by coming to New York, the media capital of the world guiding the Jets to the Superbowl, winning another ring or two and retire as one of the top 5 all-time great quarterbacks.

Douglas gets the deal done for a 2 this year and a conditional two maybe a 1 next year. Perhaps they throw in Corey Davis too.

Sure, Rodgers is a pain in the ass and a prima donna but, if he takes us all to the Promised Land he will be forever a New York Jets Hero.

    See you at the Superbowl.

I'm not really disagreeing with you. I'm not saying Matt Ryan is on the same level as rogers. And I agree 100% that they should not give up a first rounder for rogers. Where I disagree is that I don't think they're going to have to give up a first round pick. I could see something like this year's third and next year's second with some conditions applied. Which still may be a little too much in my opinion but I don't think a first is on the table.

If GB and AR decide the relationship is over, and JD doesn’t bite on 13, what team do you see offering a better package for AR?
