The Rangers do need to get off this losing skein they're on. I'm guessing when Miller comes back things lighten up a bit and maybe the 3D get enough time to give Fox and Trouba a real break on minutes. Wouldn't hurt Fox to get 20 minutes a game for a few games to catch up.
Not at all. When you have a third line where the center is producing by means of unassisted goals, there is a real issue.
I have receipts from 10 years of season tickets purchases that disagree. That's a pretty ignorant statement to make. You and I may have different ideas about the better direction of the team, but I would never be so arrogant to suggest that you don't deserve to be a spectator of the team or the sport.
At 5 on 5, the 3rd line of Lafreniere - Chytil - Kakko has the 12th highest goals for per 60 minutes of 3.99. Id say the problem with this team right now is playing short handed and having a condensed schedule, not Lafreniere and Kakko. You have certain whipping boys and blame them when everything goes sour.
Is there a way to derive this statistic for the month of February? I would be curious to see the results.
Sure thing. Lafreneire - Chytil - Kakko have logged 113 minutes of 5v5 time across 11 games in the month of February. They have scored 7 goals in this time frame. 7 divided by 113 gives you .062, which is goals per minute. Then do .062 X 60, which gives you 3.72, which is the G/60. So they’ve averaged 3.72 G/60 in the month of February, which as of 3 days ago, puts them just outside the top 20 of G/60. That’s pretty damn good for a 3rd line.
And for what it’s worth, my comment “maybe hockey isn’t for you” wasn’t questioning your fandom. You’re on a message board talking about the Rangers, that speaks volumes about how much of a fan you are. It was just a little jab at your takes regarding Laf and Kakko
Panarin and Kane cannot be on a line together. Kane with Mika and Kreider as a setup man. Tarasenko with Panarin as a trigger man.
