Some of the posts In this thread, I don't get it.

The roster JD inherited was absolute dog shit. Absolute.

As a GM, you have to find balance, especially when you're rebuilding a team completely. So, investing In players comes at a cost, the team has many other positions to upgrade. We only have so many resources to utilize every off-season.

Everyone shitting on him aren't looking at the overall aspect of a team rebuild.

He absolutely has to fix the OL this off-season. No excuses but to act like the man hasn't even tried Is silly. He's made the OL better overall but it needs to be much better still. The injuries obviously don't help and that unit was hit harder than any other team last season.

Along the way he has created a top 5 defense, brought In key pieces for our offense. We actually have a talented roster right now.

Now. He needs the final pieces to this puzzle. OL definitely has to be part of that final prices.

ya, and hands to the face too. Probably a lot of reasons why Philly's vaunted pass rush never got close to Pat. I was just putting two and two together with the terrible field and what QBs said after the Bills/Burrows game, how they love snow b/c it eliminated the pass rush. I figured that terrible sod could probably result in the same kinda thing....little to no pass rush.

A bit concerning that our own great Dline can be completely negated by a few inches snow, especially playing where we play.

Well, I don’t really see anyone shitting on him. But he’s spent a bunch of resources on the offensive line and most of them have been swing and misses.

Tomlinson was awful last year. GVR was as bad as anyone since Wayne Hunter. AVT was a hit. Becton was a miss, for whomever you want to blame on that one.

McGovern is fine, I guess. He’s not very good in my eyes because the Jets always allow free runners. Good centers usually cover for their QB and don’t allow that.

At $9million you expected more from McGovern. That's top 10 center money.

By and large Douglas has been bad at professional scouting. The players they have brought in from other organizations have been under performing or overpaid or both

Pass...waste of money, he doesn't want to play, pretty banged up too.

    I agree.

I think that would be more of the knock for me as well.

    The misses.

I was reading people posting like he's neglected the OL. He hasn't, he just hasn't hit enough to make It a formidable OL.

Gimme Broderick Jones and John Michael Schmitz, and we may have just found our Brick/Mangold 2.0 draft.

And they've tended to be late career for an OL and often injured as a result.

Good OL are a prized commodity in the NFL. When a vet is let go or his team doesn't make an offer it is often a sign that he has stepped down and is likely to again in the near future.

There are several different ways to make a duo like this happen this year if you are using 1st and 2nd round picks. There are also a few decent 4th round prospects.

I'm giving Douglas the benefit of the doubt b/c he had a whole team to build, and not just an offensive line. Now he can focus team resources on o-line...and QB, of course. LOL

I'm gonna get roasted but I am actually excited about the prospect of a healthy, motivated Becton. Potential comeback player of the year, he was good before all the injuries. I still want OL in the draft but maybe, just maybe....

yeah I get his take, but honestly, we don’t need to know him and it doesn’t really matter…we can see the results…he’s missed more games than he’s played. Sad, because I loved watching him play and bowl people, over, but dude can’t stay on the field. It is what it is

I’m not saying cut him, but we absolutely can NOT go into next season with him pencilled in as a starter. I thought that was a stupid move last year and it came back to bite us. Can’t do that again

The first season ending injury was a fluke. His own guy rolled up on his knee and it would have taken out anyone. Call it shit luck.

The second injury was related to his first. They didn't perform the necessary operation to properly fix the first injury. So I am holding out hope that the MAJOR injuries are all but over.

Given his size I think he will always have nagging injuries but I'm hoping that he only misses a game or two a year. He has a ton of talent and if he can stay in the field he will be a pro bowl level player. I truly believe that.

    god I hope not!

Not because I don’t like the player when he’s on the field, but just because I think he’s likely to miss more games than he plays…

Really good rookie year. Fluke injury second year. Hurt the the 3rd year because they didn't repair the first injury properly Hate on him because it's the thing to do. OG protection Profit.
